We are in the race for CL spots. We have 7 games to go and are within 3 points of Liverpool in 5th. Hell yes we have a chance.
The odds will be against it happening because there are supposedly better teams in the mix, but it is very possible and it’s in our own hands.
I would take any form of Europe though. It’s huge progress as a club in such a short space of time but we have the calibre of players to compete, and it will allow us to improve the quality of the squad as well.
The race for... Europe?
Re: The race for... Europe?
If we get Europe of any kind it'll be the second time Moyes has taken over a team heading for the drop, kept them up and achieved Europe the following season, having done so with West Ham.
Quite the achievement!

Honestly, I think we'd be better off with Conference League than either of the other two.

Re: The race for... Europe?
Before the game, I was a bit dismissive when you suggested CL was a possibility, but if Everton and all teams above us repeated the results of their last 4 games we'd be in the CL spots, so its possible. Villa winning today likely changes that a bit, but we have an outside chance.
Re: The race for... Europe?
Brighton have a nice run of matches, any sort of form and they are in with a very good chance.
Beat Brentford away and we will probably become a favourite for Europe.

Unfortunately I have allowed myself a moment of belief.
Let’s go and get CL football to the big hill dickie.

Re: The race for... Europe?
Honestly, what I’m most excited by is what being in Europe will do for our recruitment. The club will know we need a bigger squad and we will also be shopping for Tesco Finest rather then the middle of Lidl (still some way off M&S or Waitrose).
I think we’ve the makings of a really good squad already, with a few decent additions. I know it goes against what we’ve been doing but a couple of expensive prime players would be very good here and some of our first teamers becoming squad players would keep the identity and make competition for places next level.

Re: The race for... Europe?
A top right back changes our whole defence. Jake is no longer the default RB but he’s good enough to play so the CB role becomes more competitive and Garner loses the ‘emergency right-back’ label. Not to mention how it changes the team going forward.
Now, imagine if we get a top right AND left back…
