Jake O'Brien
Re: Jake O'Brien
Him and Tarks are such a hard partnership to get anything from. Both tall and really strong, and JOB has the added pace to cover Tarks' lack of it.
Thought he was great today and he seems almost like a natural Tarkowski replacement with Branthwaite being the more cultured partner.
But of a steal at what was something like £17.5m I think?
Going to be a fantastic long term player for us or flip for big profit down the line. Great piece of business.

Re: Jake O'Brien
Another cracker from Jake in the middle.
NEVER move him back to RB, ever, play a goalie there if we have too.

Re: Jake O'Brien
Another game at centre half, another clean sheet.
So frustrating to see him at right back past few games when we don't concede with him in the centre.
Wonder if the penny will finally drop with Moyes when Keane completes his suspension.

Re: Jake O'Brien
He's just so comfortable there, rarely looks troubled. It's no coincidence that Tarkowski looked so much better next to him again either.
Re: Jake O'Brien
Oh and another thing.
Please don't bring Keane back in to the fold.
Tarks plays better with a better CB next to him, JOB/Branthwaite.
Leave Keane where he should be, 4th choice emergency.

Can only hope so. Some stat that and surely they must realise playing him in the centre is the best optionBumble wrote:Another game at centre half, another clean sheet.

What sort of club goes a full season without a right back the manager has the smallest amount of trust in

One, it wasn't violent conduct.Evertonian418 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 11, 2026 4:03 pm Is it one or three games he'll miss. I'm guessing three.
Re: Jake O'Brien
Just bumping this thread. This fella has been pretty solid of late, in a tough position for him. He's grown and feel he's picked up some good skills and awareness at full back.
I feel he's going to be great for us when moved into the middle. Top character too. Impressive.

Re: Jake O'Brien
Totally agree. If we can keep Branthwaite and partner him with JOB, we will have a CB pair who can defend and attack... Can plucky Everton keep them when they're good enough for a big clubCods wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2026 10:48 pm Just bumping this thread. I think if we can, they'll go close to being the best CB partnership in the league.Paddockoldie wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2026 4:32 am Totally agree. Some of our rivals have one excellent CB and another who's some way off it.
In a few years this could be a dream partnership.
Fullbacks please?
