Various media reports I've read over the past few weeks.

I don't see why the Premier League would give us any points back, there's absolutely no benefit to them to back down.

Only way we come out of this with anything positive is if the silk finds a way to make the whole thing completely unlawful and it gets thrown out completely.

It's not the PL. It's an independent commission.

Yeah true but I mean how independent are they really?

Just wait and see what happens. Wouldn't trust the opinion of anyone willing to repeatedly go on TalkSport.

If it was as set in stone as "You agreed to sanctions happening and therefore can't complain" then the appeal would last 5 minutes if it happened at all.

I personally haven't seen anyone connected to football business and finance that seems to earnestly believe we should win this appeal.

Pundits and journalists, people with a vested interest like fan accounts etc yes, including myself, but I'd like to see some neutral accounts, preferably with a background in football finance or governance who is talking about us winning this appeal.

If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be grateful.

I'm not saying we should/shouldn't and haven't seen anyone nailing their colours to the mast... but what the appeal is based on (the punishment, not the charge, and the interpretation of interest payments on the stadium) has been widely reported, and is in contrast to that fella you posted earlier. He's not accurately representing what out our appeal is about.

I'm curious how they are going to handle our yearly breaches going forwards now. Every years accounts going forward aren't going to be down to overspend but previous mismanagement. I mean how do you punish a club that's cutting costs and making money on transfers year on year if they still breach ffp.

Also ultimately ffp isn't really about how much you spend its about how you spend it. The truth is the problem isn't that we got a sporting advantage from our spend its that we didn't get a big enough 1 to make more prize money, be on the tele more, have more saleable assets and get better sponsorship. Its a punishment for spending without success

I don’t think someone with football finance knowledge would add anything useful

We’ve breached the regs, we admitted that

The appeal isn’t around anything to do with that aspect

It’s that the 10 point deduction was randomly plucked out of the air based on nothing whatsoever and that they’ve not been able to substantiate how that was reached or why, or that it’s even going to be the same for every club going forwards. They did say it was wholly dreamt up for Everton only

I'm sorry, am I being a cunt here? I'm literally just saying what I've read relating to our appeal. I've no idea what the outcome will be, only my interpretation of what we're challenging. That is, not the charge(s). Thought it was common knowledge. No need for the shade.

What you've said is, this guy is chatting wham, it's clear he has no idea what he's talking about, it's commonly reported to be completely different and it's very clear what it's about.

I personally do not have that clarity on our position and appeal, and would like to if possible.

Wait, are we all under the impression that our appeal is based on the points deduction being unfair??

"Everton admitted a breach of financial rules during October’s hearing by an independent commission but are challenging a punishment that they consider disproportionate and unjust."
