It's not been easy for either striker, in and out the team, knowing that even if you start you'll get about 70 minutes max before you get hooked and some of the appeareances they've had off the bench have barely been a few minutes at the end of the game and 15-20 at best.

He's streaky but so are most strikers but his goals per minute is one every 165 minutes this season, that's pretty good going, Barry is one every 227 which is still reasonable. Compare that with DCL who lots of people thought we should have thrown the kitchen sink at especially when he went on his mad 7 or 8 game run of goals and he's just shy of 207 minutes per goal and four of those are penalties so both their numbers hold up pretty well.

Plus it helps if we play to his strengths, he'll never be a "lump it up to the big man" striker but give him something to run onto and he'll trouble defenders. Yesterday was probably his best goal for us, but if we play him like that he'll score far more.

Not sure theres much evidence that someone like delap is a better bet.
First 27 games of this season he started only 8 of them, and only played 2 consecutitve games of 70+ minutes = 3 goals.

Since the end of February he's played and started each of the 8 games, 5 of which were 70+ minutes consecutively, the others at least an hour = 6 goals.

Same story last season, only one start until February and only 3 games of 30+ minutes = 1 goal.

He then starts 14 of the last 16 games and gets at least an hour = 7 goals.

He needs a good run of games.

He'd also learn to time his runs better too, if he knew the balls were actually coming.
Which is why I'd move Grealish central because he's got the passing ability. Keep Indyia on the left with XYZ on the right.. hopefully Dibbling

I think his point here is possibly lost on a lot of people - not the big obvious "nobody is perfect" one, but the more subtle one about forwards.

There's a lot of talk about whether to pay him in or not. About streaky runs. About minutes played and about his conversion abilities. Barry falls into this too.

But the more he is on the pitch the more he makes the runs and eventually one or 2 will come off.
No striker on the planet scores with every single chance - but you only see the goals on the highlights.

Messi, Ronaldo, Pele, Maradona, Henry, Haaland, Shearer, anybody - they all missed many more than they actually scored.

We get really down on our players for not taking every chance, mainly because we create so few of them they all feel important.
But set this lad up in his favoured way half a dozen times a game, every game, and he would sail into double figures. Easy.
So would Barry.

But there'd still be people out there complaining that he misses 5 or 6 chances a game.
