Funny how this lad splits opinions. I don't see him as anything more than a championship player. You can't be that bad on the ball and that bad in releasing the ball and be anything more than a championship player imo. He's also 23, so he's not super young that you'd expect he'll develop on that sort of stuff (although obviously still young that he can).

He's an elite ball winner but you can't get away with his limitations in the Premier League.

We're stacked in CM if we're bringing in Hackney (and maybe even another), so selling him for £20m is stunning business for me.

He carries the ball really well at times, seen him stride through the midfield. He has the odd lapse but looks more composed on the ball than Rohl, (maybe a low bar.) Early criticisms were about his positional sense, but I dont hear that so much recently.

At 22yo and 60 PL Games in, I'm still very much invested in him. One to watch over the next 12 months and then see if he is the long term option, or a sell on at the right time with hopefully a nice profit. I'd be wanting more than 20m if he develops further over the next 12 months though.

Yeah I'm not convinced with Timothy either. I think he's clearly got some great qualities, but they aren't great enough to outweigh his glaring deficiencies and I don't really think you can get away with that in a Prem midfield.

His performances vary from 8/10 one week to 4/10 the following week, and then parts of his game are 8/10 and other parts of his game are 4/10. You never really know what you're getting and that's not a foundation you can build a team on.

If we brought in the Danish guy and Hackney, whilst also giving more game time to Rohl and Armstrong, then I'd probably accept moving him on, but I also think there's a 50/50 chance we'd really regret it down the line.

You could also argue that he's had a really good season and hit his ceiling, so the best option is to move him on at a high, not wait 12 months where he could plateau or decrease - this is something I feel we haven't done well enough in the past, but probably only something Moyes and team would be able to assess

I'd personally keep him, but it's either sign a contract or leave this summer.

If he's staying, I'd expect it sorted pretty early in the summer. The longer it goes on, the more likely he'll be off I'd guess.

Right now given the lack of noise...I think there is a better chance he's sold. Sometimes we can keep these things under wraps though.

I think a lot of people like him because he’s got more dynamism in midfield than we’ve seen in a long time.

Genuinely can’t remember the last time we had a midfielder with both pace AND power - you can’t teach those things so if he did develop the rest of his game he could be amazing.

Might have to sell to raise funds, when we bought him it was essentially a PSR swap with Dobbin so selling him would almost be pure profit I imagine?

He played in 31 of our games, 29 in the league. Yes, some of these were as sub, but he had a fair amount of game time, which I'd argue is better for his development than playing slightly more games in a lesser league
