Re: Hayden Hackney
Absolutely fine if someone else signs him. Bit of a gap in valuation if we offered 7/8m and others are willing to pay 20-25mil
Totally fine if we say we aren’t willing to pay that
But for fucks sake move on to the next target. Don’t moan about it all summer and moan about it in interviews Moyes as to why it’s ruined our preparation

Re: Hayden Hackney
Club can't win, pay over the odds for someone, everyone moans about it, don't want to pay over the odds and lose out, everyone moans about it. I don't mind if we miss out on this one, lad's 24 this month so not exactly just a breakthrough youngster, £20m is plenty for someone his age having never played at this level and in the last year of his deal. An uncapped 24 year old midfielder with a 1 in 10 goals and assists record in the Championship isn't worth top money.

Re: Hayden Hackney
It's just normal transfer shit. The Palace links might not even be true. Could be Boro trying to get more money out of us.
It's not even that big a deal if we miss out on him.
We're got a finite budget and we can't afford to be lashing money all over the place. People need to stop wildly overreacting to every little headline.

Re: Hayden Hackney
Valid point but also the reactions are down to the actions of the club previously rather than just people kicking off for no reason.
Last year it would have been "Don't stress about missing out Tete, we've got months to find a RB" and we ended up watching Jake O'Brien at RB all season.
We spent an eternity in and out of the Dibling deal only to get rinsed in the end anyway even though nobody else was even that interested in him.
There's not much reason to believe low-balling will work out for us or that we've got a full list of targets we'll wrap up if this one fails.
Throw in Mykolenko potentially playing for us for another 4 years then I think Everton only have themselves to blame for the general mood at the moment.

The reactions are the actions of people wanting to kick off over every little thing at the moment.
Every single headline, no matter what the source, is jumped on.
It’s going to be a very long summer.

If people didn't over react to every single thing there'd be about one post a week on hereBluedylan1 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2026 8:40 am It's just normal transfer shit. The Palace links might not even be true. Could be Boro trying to get more money out of us.

Re: Hayden Hackney
Yeah for me its the fact this has happened every single year since i can remember watching us. I cba with being told Keane is 4th choice so chill out, to then watching him play almost every fucking game. I cba with the fact Mykolenko is going to play another season for us, the worst player ive ever seen.
We cant be that cash strung that we offer 20m instead of 25m to save pennies? What is the point?
But you are right, its just social media journos, so prob isnt true. But when you have a lifetime of similar evidence, its hard to not kick off about it

Re: Hayden Hackney
Sign him or miss out ,cba at the moment , did we really low ball. ? . What we all know is 8-12m doesn't even get you a leg ,of players in the championship these days.....
Times have changed ,our bids still resemble 10-20 yrs ago
Some one is playing CM2 with an updated database...

Re: Hayden Hackney
Not really bothered if he goes elsewhere. We aren't too bad in cm - things are more desperate in other areas. If we only had X amount for Hackney and they dont accept then move on.
We've beat teams by paying over the odds for players and lost out too.
He's not the only option out there and think we'd all be a bit annoyed if we paid 25m for a championship player in the final year of his contract
