According to ‘me top babber’ down the ale house he’s the best thing to come from Bristol since Terry Thomas.

Alex Scott’s from Bristol. This lad must be top notch if he’s better than Alex Scott.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
Moyes is not moving to a back 5 ever.
We should just solve our issues by signing an actual RB, upgrading our LB and letting everyone else play the position they are best at or be sold because they aren't good enough (McNeil and Patterson).

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
What a horrible link - of all the exciting young norwegian players - we get linked with a bang average one. Tells you where we are in the hierarchy.
He is very good for Bodo/Glimt but with him it is all about the system and the confidence their style gives him. He will fail in the Premier League.
If we are to be linked with norwegian players it should be players like Schelderup, Nusa or Austbo...
Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
I’ll be fucking livid if we spend £30m on a 26 year old from the Norwegian league.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
Yeah I don't think Teamtalk or Fraser Fletcher are sources to take remotely seriously, so that's not a concern.
More generally I think what's obvious is that the market has been wildly inflated this summer by deals that Spurs and other clubs have been doing. So I would imagine we're being quoted crazy numbers for some of the players we're interested in. European clubs will be seeing the opportunity to make big money from Prem clubs, and rightly so from their perspective.
Added to that, we're still clearly limited by what we can spend due to financial rules so we're having to box really clever (which I would argue we've done with Hackney and George). Nick Hammond is clearly negotiating very hard on these deals, because we only have a limited pot of money we can spend. Even the Grealish thing, we're clearly not just accepting Man City's demands. I don't mind him coming back, but I won't be devastated if he doesn't personally.
I find the general approach quite encouraging. I don't think we're being cheapskates. I think we're trying to run ourselves like a serious club.
We should have a right back in by now, so I'm not absolving the club of blame there, but again I expect we're being quoted silly numbers all over the shop.
But overall I'm willing to be relatively patient and back the club to get 2/3 more important deals over the line. Just hope it's sooner rather than later, so we don't throw away the first few games of the season, as we often do.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
I think our biggest priority is centre midfield. If we don't sign someone that's capable of coming in and hitting the ground running to replace Gueye, I think the writing could be on the wall this year.
We really do need to start making moves quickly to get players embedded before the season starts. It's not desperate yet, but it's creeping closer

You think CM is a higher priority than a RB?????Raptor wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2026 7:41 am I think our biggest priority is centre midfield. If we don't sign someone that's capable of coming in and hitting the ground running to replace Gueye, I think the writing could be on the wall this year.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
Outside of Tim I think we have one of the weakest midfields in the league.
Hackney will be eaten alive in there.
Massive priority. As is centre half and I see us not addressing either.
