I agree with your analysis and maybe it's the lack of wider reporting, but also the secrecy around decision making, how the points were calculated and the not for public release that adds to the feeling of us being the scapegoat to hide their deficiencies. The appeal was 2 weeks ago and we still wait to find out... that can't be rightBluedylan1 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 5:13 pm Much as I agree that the other business has been handled incompetently and we are some sort of pawn in an anti-regulation narrative, I don't buy the Prem actually wanting to ruin us. Would be very bad press for one of their founder members and an ever-present to go under. They could've easily waived this through in December and said ''oh well'', if they wanted to ruin us. Moshiri obviously doesn't care, and the Prem may actually be our only line of defence against these shysters.
Just wish the mainstream media would pick up on the 777 shambles in this country, rather than niche twitter accounts, because it needs to be widespread. I think if Panorama or the Guardian or BBC did some sustained pieces on this, it would very quickly make the takeover untenable.

Re: 777 Partners Takeover
What's the motivation for the PL to target us?
"Let's scupper Everton. Bastards finishing fifteenth every year and ruining it for everyone."
If they really wanted to they could have just docked us two points last season and done the job while looking lenient.

Re: 777 Partners Takeover
Personally don't think the 2 weeks (and maybe longer) wait for the decision is all that surprising or questionable. We submitted 3 days of evidence in the appeal. That's a lot of material. The initial charge against us involved 40,000 documents being assessed. The people on the appeal commission have normal day jobs and may have additional commitments, meaning they can't work on this situation 24/7. The Prem have heightened scrutiny on everything they do, and presumably every comment and action has to be run by legal bods to the Nth degree.Paddockoldie wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 6:06 pm I agree with your analysis and maybe it's the lack of wider reporting, but also the secrecy around decision making, how the points were calculated and the not for public release that adds to the feeling of us being the scapegoat to hide their deficiencies. Things take time. It feels like an eternity to us, because we're all agonising about our club and it's future but from an external POV it's not unreasonable for this to take a little while.
I actually think the longer it takes, the better for us. If you're just getting ''nah it's 10 points, and that's the end of it'' you probably do that relatively quickly.

I think it's the not knowing anything. Literally no information about how the case went. No details of when we might get a verdict. Certainly no framework for how the punishments are decided... 1 day next week with zero notice the result will just pop up as breaking news.

It'll get leaked to Ornstein the day before.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 7:26 pm I think it's the not knowing anything. Literally no information about how the case went. The numbers are so confused. I've allsorts from 20m a month to 160m total(maybe thats 8 months worth) to your 40m. Same with the debt. I've seen numbers past a billion of debt. Its hard to know what to believe right now. If some of these numbers are true the club is probably worth nothing

They're in no rush. They won't reduce the points because that would create noise... that just leaves the narrative we were guilty and punished accordingly

Chelsea definitely getting away with it for “being under a previous owner it would be unfair to punish the current regime”
So we need charging before getting taken over

I wish I even knew what to hope for here. These seem like scum, but it seems like "it's this or the wall" might be a legitimate risk.

Master plan in play right now. Moves within moves. Get given £200M by 777, they fold and piss off. Our accounts look much better. A genuine bonafide buyer comes in. Well played Everton, well played.

PL would come up with a new rule and back date it so we have to pay that to them with 39% on top
Priceless
