And I bet you they’re not.
Summer Transfer Window 2026
Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
Or we are getting Munoz in and have agreed not to play him on Saturday?

Have a listen to the full interview. It's only half an hour.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2026 1:12 pm It all points to we can’t buy until we sell if their targets are still available why are we dithering all summer there is definitely guys on different pages in that committee
He says that there's players we're targeting, but their clubs won't sell at the moment until they get their own replacements in, and he also says some players prefer to wait until later in the window to make a decision. He also says that we're trying to sign the best player we can get rather than just any old right back.
Whether we live upto that intention, we will only be able to judge at the end of the window, but there's no need to make your own narrative up when you can actually listen to what he says in detail about it.

Thought we could get Doue, but he keeps saying no, but he hasn’t gone anywhere else yet eitherblueToffee wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2026 12:40 pm I’m guessing the last part he was saying in a mangled way the objective was for them to have a RB in before the Palace game.
“The players we thought we had the option of” is confusing but maybe means the players we’re actually interested and we had a realistic chance of getting in are still available?
Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
I feel pretty good about our business so far minus the part where we haven’t signed a RB.
These are weird noises to be making, both Moyes and Kinnear.
All will be forgiven if we sell Iroegbunam, Alcaraz, and Beto and bring in a right back and Kofane.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
Like the only way I can make sense of that is if Ndiaye goes to Arsenal and Grealish comes in on top of those sales and incomings and even then, the percentage doesn’t work out since we’ve already signed five players.
Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
70% is wild.
Choosing to be positive and say ok I look forward to all those signings.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
If my maths is right, if the suggestion is 30% has already been done then that’s another 11 players to move in or out in 2 weeks.
or 23 based on 10 main in and out player deals so far
Has he just plucked a random number out of the air there, someone should stop him talking.

Trying to do the maths here.
That’s another six players isn’t it?
That simply isn’t happening. It must mean outgoings as well.

Always felt silva got a bit unlucky and we got rid too soon.sam of the south wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2026 11:17 am If we get a really decent rb in I would also be happy with our squad, if we had a different manager.
That’s where I’m at.
An Iraola type. As in someone who wouldn’t play Mykolenko every game, or play a giant cb at right-back.
But maybe we will never go down that route.
It certainly feels like it.
I know some will say we tried it with Martinez and Silva, but there was little high energy with their styles.
Maybe Silva’s sides would have been without him insisting on always playing Sigurdsson, but there we are.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
Maybe it's like buying a house in a huge chain. We want them, they want to sell, but someone somewhere is waiting for a sale before it all happens.
Maybe it's us and Tim getting injured stalled that sale and fucked the whole thing.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
I think there’s a few factors:
Funds: We’re probably happy to sell Alcaraz, Tim, Patterson and maybe Beto too.
Our preferences: We’ve clearly got our eyes on Doue as first choice RB, then maybe Munoz, Norton Coffey etc. If we think our other choices aren’t going anywhere then we might be waiting for our first choice.
Players club preferences: Doue probably is hoping for a European club so he’s a no for now but might be yes if no other interest materialises.
Buying chain: We might be looking at players who aren’t for sale until their club brings in someone else. Maybe City won’t let Grealish go until they get Bouaddi/Enzo for example
