I think this is the season it happens if points deductions don't go in our favour. The squad looks devoid of confidence to me. We have no idea how to play on the front foot and unless Dyche has some outrageous ephiany that you need to attack to win games, especially with football as it is now, it isn't football from 10 years ago, then we're cooked.

Fixtures don't look favourable to me either - Brighton, United, Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal still to come. Just don't see where we are picking up points. Luton actually look pretty decent, we look shite.

I've avoided watching us most games recently because it's a horrendous watch and incredibly depressing, I'd rather watch us go down playing at least some football. I can't watch this shit that's served up. Dyche has no excuses for last night, both Eze and Olise out and he picks Young on the wing. Pathetic. Last night was a must win, we're desperate for confidence, we've not won a game since December. We're sleepwalking to relegation unless he's sacked. Get someone in, anyone, just for a little positivity and bounce. Could be the difference between going down and staying up.

Absolutely ludicrous to even think about sacking dyche.

He’s the reason we aren’t already down.

He’s doing an incredible job.

We're not going to get anyone better who can utilise the tools available, its just frustrating that he's picking a rubber mallet instead of a set of adjustable pliers.

I'd take the risk of the new manager bounce and hopefully get a couple of wins from that. Yeah it may backfire but I don't see where we are getting 6 points from under Dyche anyway. Plus it'll be the same shit served up next season. Can't be doing with watching this brand of football.

We would be 12th and ten points clear of the bottom three without the deduction.

Do you believe that’s somehow underachieving with this squad and the state the club is in?

Yeah I'm not advocating sacking him what so ever like.

But that really swayed me last night.

The right side of Young/Godfrey when we had Harrison and Paterson on the bench is absolutely unforgiveable.

A CB at right back and an ageing winger who couldn't take on a tortoise.

Before anyone pitches in with the whole "Patterson can't defend" bullshit, you're right, he isn't a good defender, but every single one of our full backs bar Mykolenko can't defend.

Patterson at least gives you an element of something going forward. Attack is the best form of defence and all that. A RB at RB would at least give the team balance.

Why do we seem to always attract these managers that love the whole "square pegs in round holes" approach?

You keep saying this but there's no substance to what you're saying, "I'd take anyone at the moment" is just a nonsense argument, and who on earth is coming to us under the circumstances? Who do want Rooney, Beale, get Duncan and Unsworth back, maybe we could get Lampard in until the end of the season? I posted a link recently that showed the new manager bounce is largely a myth especially for clubs nearer the bottom of the table but that's all you're basing your argument on, it's just a massive knee jerk reaction. Constantly sacking managers is part of the reason we're in this mess. We're sitting net 12th on 30 points with a squad that's largely battled relegation the last two years, he's not world class and has his flaws but under the circumstances he's worked miracles with all the distraction that are going on.

No, I totally appreciate that Dyche has his hands tied and the club is a complete basket case. Anyone is going to struggle in this situation. I just don't see where we're picking up 6 points from though that a new manager bounce could give us. It's not Dyche's fault that there's a points deduction of course but it is what it is. Times are desperate and maybe we need to be drastic with it, I feel like we're sleep walking towards relegation. Hopefully we find out about this deduction very soon, if it gets reduced then great he might be able to steer us clear. If not, I don't see how we pick up points with how he's setting us up.

Appreciate what you're saying, we're all suffering but I'm finding it hard to even comprehend watching us at the moment, the setups and game plans are piss poor and surely the whole point of watching football is for a little enjoyment. I've not been getting that for a long time with us and maybe some big calls might change that, maybe they won't. I'm just not into Dyche and this brand of football.

The clubs in a mess we can't sack him, and hire anyone else (unless it's someone from with in the club) then that's dead in the water. Also can't see us get out of this mess any time soon so we are stuck with him no matter if you like it or not.
I'm in the camp of that he has done the best so far with the players available. No doubt he's made some big errors in team selection and subs, no point naming the players again.
12th with 30pts would be relatively safe unless we e didn't win another game.
However as it stands we are currently playing shite and stuck in a poor run of form and unless we get some points back and the 2nd charge is not a points deduction then it may well be the year. But changing Dyche now won't give us a quick fix.

If we weren't financially fucked then Dyche probably would get the boot eventually , but the squad available to him is a lot worse than it was 1,2,3 years ago.

If someone else was in charge ATM a lot would be calling for someone like Dyche to come in to sort us out.

We all knew as fans what we would be getting with Dyche and at some point it would go stale and some would start to turn against him but I don't think now is the time

I don’t care about the football.

Fans have been duped into thinking “brand of football” is in any way important.

We are the 12th best team in the league according to the table.

We have one of the best defensive records, our XG suggests performances have been good and we are the best team in the league for winning the ball high up the pitch.

That’s more than good enough for me. I don’t want us playing like everyone else in the league.

The way we play is unique in the modern game and it causes trouble for the opposition for the most part.

We've lost 5 league games since we had our points deduction in November, Man Utd (H) Spurs (A) Man City (H) Wolves (A) and Man City (A) The Wolves game was the stand out as we were poor, but Man Utd was a worldy that a killed a fired up Goodison after 2 minutes and then Young gave a stupid penalty away just after half time when we were more than giving them a game. Both Man City games are a free hit anyway but away we restricted them to two shots on target and they scored both. Both Spurs games we gave it a go and could have arguably won them both, we can give most teams a game even if it's not playing attractive flowing football.

Maybe Dyche did get it wrong last night and he has done a couple of times but generally we've been in games, it hasn't helped having injuries to Onana and Doucoure and Gana being away at the African Nations and DCL and Beto being way off form. People are going on like we're in this position because of Dyche but if we do go down it won't be on him.
