What a cheeky cunt!!!!

The fans have supported yous for fucking ever. Spending shithouse wages on travelling the breadth of the country to fill every single stadium for them.

Filling the road with flags, smoke bombs, everything we could to welcome the team coach as if we were winning the fucking treble, not fighting for our lives.

How dare he say they need support not boos.

Absolute dick head. Maybe if you werent part of Backwards FC, then we wouldnt fucking boo.

I think part of it is maybe that he's a young English midfielder and people want to buy into it as a concept, and then they can't admit to themselves that the actual reality of it is jarringly bad. A bit like having Frank Lampard as a manager. Many of the same people bought into him as a concept and supported him for much longer than they should have, because of some weird emotional connection than wasn't borne out in anything he actually did.

Must admit, didn’t realise how limited he was until last night. I thought he was young and reasonably promising. Now I can only see another Scott Gemmil.

To be fair it's hard to judge a midfielder in this side.

For some reason Tark is our main ball player. Everyone else is crowding around.

If you swapped Ross Barkley for James Garner at the start of the season I'm not confident he wouldn't be having an identical season.

Slight tweak on the that we have two main ball players in the team, Tarkowski is our first, our second is Pickford twatting it up field - invariably in to touch

That changes massively when Onana is on the pitch though. He takes the ball from the CBs and plays it. Garner doesn't even try to get it off them.

Yeah true, he changes things massively just by wanting the ball and being comfortable taking it on the turn.

I can see both sides of the booing thing

On our (the fans) side - people who have paid their hard earned are perfectly entitled to boo if they want to boo - especially if they’re watching absolute dross

From the player’s side, especially if they’re struggling for form, confidence or whatever, it’s not going to help much

Moaning about it probably isn’t the wisest thing to do. Get your head down & give the supporters something to get behind

Yeah, it's not the fans fault that we've won 3 league matches at Goodison all season and lost twice as many.

Is he even that good defensively? And don't tell me that he does a lot of unseen stuff. He really doesn't.

And I'm still struggling to see the argument that he's decent with dead balls too. His delivery is crap most of the time.

Would rather have Wharton, who played for them last night, over Garner.

My Everton supporting mate thinks he is brilliant won’t hear a bad word said about him reckons he is the hardest working player in the league maybe that’s what dyche sees but the set piece thing is a complete myth that free kick last night was so poor

A player is labeled as hard working when they run about a lot but is actually a bit crap and doesn't really contribute anything of note.

I was hard working for my 6 a side team.

If he wants to be a centre mid at this level he has to do a lot more with the ball.

Just simple things like take the touch, move it forward and get into space seems so difficult for him.

Why do we always seem to have midfielders like this?

He has energy to burn, he’s good defensively, can whip a decent ball in. Get him right back.
Agree with that.
I don't see anything in him as a central midfielder, just not good enough for me.
Dyche obviously does not rate patterson, godfrey offers nothing going forward coleman is out more than in, give him a go
