Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
I think if we were getting points back they'd declare it by now to silence the noise. Saying that, it may raise more questions on how they work it out. Regardless, it's a disgraceful way to process your business.

No way we get the news today. They would hate to spoil the party and headlines across the park

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
Unless we get all 10 back I imagine there’ll be a big argument around what basis any deduction has been calculated, and what the rules are that the same process is applied to every case or else the whole integrity of the the thing is open to endless challenge. Maybe the PL are still writing something up to answer this before any announcement
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
Maybe our legal team want to bare some teeth and go legal on the PL, which may well push any date beyond that of the end of season, kicking the can down the road a la City. If the PL are as incompetent as they look there might be arguments we have that need remedying.

You could argue that it makes their party even more memorable.mahoney1978 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 8:10 am No way we get the news today. They would hate to spoil the party and headlines across the park![]()
You could argue releasing it now buries it under the Liverpool love in.
I actually don't think they're strategic enough to be managing its release to fit a specific time and date.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
So I'd assume, going forward now. The penalty is 6 points for breaching.
So if us and forest get 6 for the next bout we should be OK.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
6 still better than 10 but still way too much of a penalty for the crime committed
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
Club statement:
Everton can confirm an Appeal Board has concluded that the points deduction imposed by an independent Premier League Commission in November be reduced from 10 points to six points, with immediate effect.
While the Club is still digesting the Appeal Board’s decision, we are satisfied our appeal has resulted in a reduction in the points sanction.
We understand the Appeal Board considered the 10-point deduction originally imposed to be inappropriate when assessed against the available benchmarks of which the Club made the Commission aware, including the position under the relevant EFL regulations, and the 9-point deduction that is imposed under the Premier League’s own rules in the event of insolvency.
The Club is also particularly pleased with the Appeal Board’s decision to overturn the original Commission’s finding that the Club failed to act in utmost good faith. That decision, along with reducing the points deduction, was an incredibly important point of principle for the Club on appeal. The Club, therefore, feels vindicated in pursuing its appeal.
Notwithstanding the Appeal Board’s decision, and the positive outcome, the Club remains fully committed to cooperating with the Premier League in respect of the ongoing proceedings brought for the accounting period ending in June 2023.
The Club is still considering the wider implications of the decision and will make no further comment at this time other than to place on record its thanks to our Fan Advisory Board and other fan groups throughout this process, and to all Evertonians for their ongoing support and patience.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
Looking forward to the detailed reasoning for why.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
I meant to say between now and the end of the season we out do forest points wise.
That or make sure there is a 6 point buffer between us and whoever finishes 18th.
Plenty of games between now and when the second charge hits for us to put enough points on the board to make sure that a 6 point deduction won't even matter.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again
So... Any chance we can have an explanation as to why we received 10 originally and how they've come to 6 this time?
Happy to have some back though, changes things a bit... Let's hope the second charge doesn't equal the same amount again as that would just plunge us in to the relegation zone.
