Financial Fairplay Investigation - 2025 Nobody in Breach
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
I heard baz on toffee TV say that Andy Burnham expects the footnall governance bill will be voted on and passed in 1-2 weeks I think, I can't find anything online about that tho, has anyone heard anything
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
I think this is largely coming from Keiran Maguire, he said similar to this on the radio this morning:
“I think there’s a case for saying that if the second commission views Everton’s position in isolation and reaches a verdict then there’s a very good case for reducing the penalty by two thirds given that there’s an overlap of two seasons in respect of the assessed periods,” he told i.
“So, for example, if they give a further three point reduction it could be reduced to one. If it’s six points it could be reduced to two and so on.”
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
We know that our losses for the first two years of the new period were £55m and £10m, so for us to be charged we must have still broken the £105m limit, which to do that means we've posted at least a £40m loss in year 3.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
And if I'm reading Myers's tweet right and they decide to follow the EFL rules, the first year two years would be capped at -£35m to reduce the impact of double counting - so that becomes -£35m and -£10m, giving us a -£60m cushion.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
My understanding is that the “clock” resets. So the accounts submitted for 22/23 should be taken in isolation and have a limit of £35m assuming we don’t breach that it rises to £70m for the two seasons 22/23 and 23/24 then the next season it rises to £105m those two seasons and 24/25 then it’s back onto a 3year rolling calculation.
That’s also assuming no rule change. Which I think there has to be.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
I'm shite at getting my head around stuff like this.
In laymans terms, regarding Alan Myers Tweet, is this good news or bad news with regards to our second charge?

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
It means we should only be punished for one season of breach not 3, Aslong as we are not 35m over so basicly we should not get a full 6
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
Are Forest being punished for the same period, or longer? It'd be good if they were expected to get more points deducted than ourselves.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
Forrest should being done for the 3 years,
Unless they prove mitigating factors they should be looking at 6-8 points
I thi k we should only get another 2 points but u never know, if we breach bad it could be 6-8 but if we can show we are improving then it should be 2

The 1878s would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every Evertonian & other fan groups who have fought for the club over the last few months.
Further to the appeal announcement yesterday, (although we are not all completely satisfied) we have continuously said all along that the original punishment was totally out of proportion, and we are happy to see that this has now been confirmed by the appeal. The outcome justifies our reasons for protesting for the past few months.
We have always maintained the opinion that if the club had breached any rules, then we should be punished. However, there was absolutely no justification for the severity of the punishment, and no justification for the Premier League to deduct 10 points from us for doing so.
This entire process has raised many serious questions with regards to the conduct of The Premier League. We feel a 40% reduction in the punishment proves that we as a fanbase were right to question how this has been handled.
The Premier League have proven beyond doubt that they are unfit to govern our game, and the sooner an independent regulator is put in place the better, for the good of our game, and in the interests of all fans of all clubs.
We would like to thank every single volunteer, every single person who donated, and every single supporter for helping us with our protests. The funds that remain will be used to continue to do anything we can to enhance the atmosphere and fan experience at Goodison park. As always, if you have any ideas please send us a DM.
We are all aware of the second charge, which, the majority of include a period for which we have already been punished, and hope that the process will be dealt with swiftly, and above all, fairly unlike the initial one. We will now await the decision.
Now it is vital that we as a fanbase come together once again, time to push the team from now, until the end of the season to ensure that our final season at Goodison Park is spent where we firmly belong - in the top flight of English Football.
We showed, once again, that the Spirit of the Blues will never be broken. We now call for all Evertonians to keep this fighting spirit and get behind the team starting on Saturday in our huge game versus West Ham, and for the rest of the season. Let’s push the lads on up the table!
WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED!!!
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
I’ve looked for these figures but can’t find them. Where have they come from? Obviously if you are right that’s a fair assumption but I can’t see how that’s possible given our activity.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
Figures confirmed Iin Paragraph 221 of the appeal report published yesterday.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
Ah were they. Well that makes sense then. Haven’t sat down to read it fully yet.
Kind of why I was hoping that at least the “playerX” mitigation would be considered.
