I don't think Chermiti was bought with the intention of getting much game time at the moment, more one for the future and probably and have gone on loan somewhere. Danjuma hasn't been great and wasn't at Spurs either last season, he was available on loan so it made sense to get him in but definitely not a Dyche type player and we can all see Beto but he's scored goals elsewhere and I still think there's something about him that he could get 10-12 goals a season given a run. The issue is Dyche probably persisted too long with DCL when he was clearly struggling so Beto has been getting minutes more than any meaningful run in the team until recently. I think that'll continue after this break as DCL will be well rested and I can see Dyche giving him another go.

None of it's ideal but it's where we are at the moment.

I don't think he was saying we should just sign brownhill and pray, I'd imagine that was just an example of the type of loan deal that might help.

Glad to see I started a discussion anyway lol. Certainly wasn’t advocating for what I thought might happen but we have to stay up next year, before BMD might help us move the goalposts so to speak

I'm talking about the types of players that Dyche will favour, if he does have a significant involvement in recruitment. Judging on how tragically bad we are with the ball, and how mostly good we are without the ball, I think it's fair to assume that our recruitment focus isn't going to involve quality on the ball or technical ability. I think it's fair to assume that it might involve hard work, energy, attitude, fitness levels etc.

I think we'll trend to more Garners than Onanas if Dyche has significant involvement.
The Onana deal though was an almost guaranteed winner which is why we paid so much for him. We've been linked with many cheap young foreign midfielders who've gone elsewhere and achieved the square root of zero, so it's a very risky strategy to pin hopes on those players.

We didn't get lucky with Onana, we paid for the near definite profit down the line we'd get... So I don't see it as the same as a punt on some young foreigner.

Ideally we'd do both as the value increase is more dramatic the less you pay, but we do need some actual guaranteed quality in there too this summer.

I know. They'll leave it until everyone's bought their tickets and sorted the travel and accommodation then shift it to a different day.

Dyche Disciple?

I've got absolutely no idea why Chermiti was bought personally. Looks baffling looking back.

He's a million miles off ready to play in the premier league isn't he?

Either we've basically paid nothing and it's all based on clauses, or we've thought he was far better than he is.

Needs to go out on loan badly for several seasons, but I think given the thing squad they don't want to risk needing him and him not being here.

All in all seems baffling as you rightly said.

Young player, with really high potential.

Give him some good loans, slowly integrate him into the first team and in a few years you have yourself a good premier league striker for relative buttons.

We all know that’s not going to happen though so yeah, what’s the point.

Will end up in Spain or back in Portugal for a fraction of what we bought him for.

Signing him is a long term decision for a team with no long term plans. Weird.

Wasn't he specifically named as being signed for the u21s, not the first team?

Or was that someone else?
