The Club can confirm captain Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young are to be offered new one-year contracts, while an option to extend Idrissa Gana Gueye’s deal until the end of June 2025 has been activated.
Everton will continue dialogue with Leeds over the future of forward Harrison when the Yorkshire club’s current Championship play-off campaign is completed.
Dele, whose current contract also ends next month, will remain with the Club while he continues an intensive rehabilitation programme from a long-term groin injury, which he has recently been undergoing away from Merseyside.

Keeping Dele on to continue his injury rehab which he’s currently been doing away from the club anyway… ooookkk…

Yeah, he’s been rehabing away from the club though, so isn’t using our facilities anyway777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 5:29 pm We aren't keeping him on. We are just allowing him to use our facilities

Basically he'll no doubt be doing his fitness work elsewhere but he'll be under the guidance of our medical team and following a program they've made for him. It's not really a problem. On Dele, Thelwell added: “Dele’s contract is coming to an end, but our medical team will continue to support him while he completes the intensive rehabilitation programme he is currently undergoing following the operation he had earlier this year. Both Sean and I agree it is important we ensure Dele’s rehabilitation is not impacted by his contract situation at such a critical point in his recovery.”

Not might be, will be and providing he’s taken a cut in wages it’s the right thing to do given our circumstances.

Ordinarily, I'd agree. But we don't know he's taken a pay cut and he'll be 252 next season. His legs quite clearly aren't what they used to be and he's become more of a liability as the season has progressed.

Think to be fair he had a really good end to the season
Re: Summer Transfers 2024-25 Season
My main issue with Young staying another year isn't how horribly shit he is, but every commentator reminding us every single game for another whole year that he made his debut for Watford whilst Dyche was still on the playing staff.

I count that Forest game where he was desperate to give a pen away and the Luton game het got mugged off as the end of the season

Totally disagree, he’s a natural athlete, who could probably carry on til he’s 40, he was less a liability as the season progressed, not sure what you’ve been watching these last few months.AllyBlue14 wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 7:37 pm Ordinarily, I'd agree.
