Euro 2024 Discussion
Re: Euro 2024 Discussion
Nothing to do with Southgate that goal. Individuals are carrying England through this tournament.
Re: Euro 2024 Discussion
Brilliant.
Everyone wanted him out the team for palmer. Been by far our best attacking player.

Banger.
Southgate keeps making the same bet and basically keeps winning it as well. It’s garbage to watch but of course he’s not going to change anything.

If you can't be good, be lucky, eh?
The fact we're even in with a shout of the semi-final is incredible given the level of mismanagement.

Not to mention all the strong teams ended up on the other side of the bracket.AllyBlue14 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 5:41 pm If you can't be good, be lucky, eh?

Re: Euro 2024 Discussion
Bizarre to see this group of players sleepwalking through matches until they go behind.
And now they’re right back to sleepwalking through extra time.
I know Rice almost picked out the corner from distance to put England ahead but it’s absolute madness to sit back and *expect* things of that nature to happen for you.

Re: Euro 2024 Discussion
Lack of pace and width is killing England.
You'd be better off with Gordon out left and Watkins up front despite Kane and Foden/Palmer being better individual players.
There's no driving past players down the line or running in behind to create space for those in the middle. Saka is by far the best attacking player and its because he runs inside or out and plays like a true winger.
Tactics are poor but just changing the personnel would be better.
Still probably win due individual ability but it's not great.

I’d say lack of impetus.Cantoffee wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 6:04 pm Lack of pace and width is killing England.

The group on the pitch is 100% capable of playing with more tempo and making the Swiss uncomfortable. And yet here they are doing the least.
Re: Euro 2024 Discussion
The issue with Kane is that you need to sub him off around 70 mins but you can't because he's the main penalty taker and you're a negative manager who will happily accept a penalty shootout rather than try and go win a game.
