Turned us down for Bayern, sounds like he had a clearer route to 1st team football.

Have a quick google at who his agent is.

That will explain all.

Zirkzee isn't very good. He only scored about 10 goals last season. Bookmark this.

Like when we were trying to bring in Alan Smith to play up front with Rooney.

Says a lot that he struggles to get in that Holland team when they play weghorst.

Omg what about weghorst lads?

Haha, yeah, I didn’t believe it for a second, though.

I’d got pretty friendly with Alan Smith four years before when him and his dad watched the euro’s at my sister’s pub in Florida. Proper nice dude, contrast to the snarling lad he was on the pitch.

I can understand him wanting to move on. Better for him to tell us now he isn't signing a new contract so we can sell him.

We might end up keeping Onana and Branthwaite afterall.

I do worry about what we look like without DCL but good chance to bring in a new striker and probably a winger with the funds raised from his sale.

Yeah I don't mind him wanting to move, and he's informed us at the right time so that we're able to get a decent fee and get an adequate replacement in. Always liked him from what we know of him as a person, so will be sad to see him move on from that perspective.

I do think we'll see a better version of Beto this season, with an intense pre-season under his belt and more adaptation time, but clearly that won't be enough. Chermiti should hopefully continue to improve and be a good backup, if he doesn't go out on loan.

Will be interesting to see who we would target as a replacement.

Think this could be a bit of a blessing in disguise, we have been too reliant on DCL for too long and having him around has hampered us imo. I don't feel we have ever looked to replace him, more give ourselves back up options in the hope that he would become injury free and discover any semblance of of the goal scoring form he had for a brief spell under Carlo, but it's never materialised.
I would wish him well as he does appear to be a really top, grounded individual who has been terribly unlucky with injuries, but I won't really lose sleep about losing him

He played for us as part of a youth tournament while he was floating about picking his next club.

I watched the games and he barely broke into a run, was like u17 or something but genuinely looked like he had flip flops on.

Served his time now hasn't he really, keeping him any longer would be cruel.

So long and good luck, I hope you can make something out of whatever you have left of your career.

For us...dreadful news imo but you never know.

In fairness not only should we be able to replace Doms goal tally and availability, but we should, for a fraction of the price we sell him for, actually improve it significantly.
