Everything I've seen states we asked for daft money which Newcastle rightly had no interest in paying for a injury prone player in the last year of his contract.

I also don't see any issue with him 'running down his contract' as I highly doubt anyone's even come in for him with more than a fleeting interest and been scared off by our valuation. He'd probably leave if we accepted a bid, we haven't and he's under no obligation to sign a new contract of he doesn't want to, and who knows if we've even offered him a decent one that he'd want to sign.

The onus on him to leave or re-sign is very much also dependent on us having a realistic valuation for any interested teams and for us to offer him a contract he'd want to sign... It seems out valuation is insane and we have no idea what the terms of any new contract were.
Calvert-Lewin’s contractual situation remains unresolved. He is now into the final 12 months of his deal after rejecting a switch to Newcastle United.

He's extremely silly if he rejected Newcastle. That would be a great move for him and he's much more likely to spend the season missing sitters and getting injured then playing so well that he gets a better move

Looking very likely. Can’t imagine we let him go late as it would leave us very short. But with Solanke going to Tottenham it seems there are no teams left to take DCL

He's not dislodging Isak. He's bench warming or playing every week for us depending on injuries. I think he's over that spell myself. Better service and positioning and he'll score.

He got booed off for fracturing his cheekbone on the pitch.
Reckon he's used to us being cunts

I think every other source said Newcastle basically laughed at our £35m-£40m valuation which seems a hell of a lot more likely.

Even if he did reject Newcastle maybe the terms offered were shit or he was told he'd be 2nd or 3rd choice... Can't really expect him to sign for them just because it helps it out even if it wasn't a good move for him.

On DCL, drop him. Play Beto or Chermiti. I don't really rate DCL anyway, decent hold up play but he's bang average in the box. Zero composure, awful finisher. If he won't sign a new deal then let him sit on the bench.

Wish we still had the old comments on here, I was laughed at when I said Solanke was better than DCL a few years back. DCL seems to be getting progressively worse as he ages.

At his best I'm having DCL but Solanke is a very good player. £65m is a lot tho.

Id really like him gone now, DCL, will be painful watching him get zero service and then be blamed all year.

Hope we lower our sell value and he lowers his wage and we can find a route for him, I just don't see where that could be.

Most of that is fair but dcl missed a fair few chances last season too he is very good but needs to stay fit and if he played 30 games in a season he would score 15/20 goals even in a dyche team staying fit is the big problem though

He's only ever scored over 15 league goals once, and that was 16 in the Carlo season where he went on an unbelievable run at the beginning of the season, then scored about 1 the next 6 months. More chance of you winning the lottery without buying a ticket than there is of DCL getting 20 goals in 30 games under Dyche

Come on man.

He missed loads of chances last season.

Should have got a good few more goals than he did.

He’d even admit that himself.

If dyche can get Chris wood, Ashley Barnes, Andre grey, and Danny ings scoring goals then he can’t be the problem, can he?

Had a very poor year, very very poor.

Not talking about last year though, I'm making a prediction on next.

I reckon Bournemouth will go for him. He’s a quality player and they do their homework.
