I think the only way his comments are interpreted as a dig at the fans is if you're looking for it to be a dig because you don't like him.

I'd be interested in how fans from other clubs interpret it.

A bit like his "they thought I was a messiah not long ago" quotes from last season towards the end of the 4 month winless run. If you don't like him then it comes across as him calling the fans fair weather and not taking them seriously. If you like him then you'll think it's another harmless comment.

No. I am saying Dyche has a particular skillset. He'll make you hard to beat, and frustrating to play against. He is good at getting the most out of a limited pool of players.

But if you give him money, he'll buy "proven veterans" on their way down. He doesn't have a project-builder's vision. Square peg, round hole (starting next season). We absolutely benefitted from not being able to sign Slabhead. 100%. If we had, Branthwaite either deputizes Maguire and Myko - or he gets sold on the cheap. He wasn't buying Slabhead to be an upgraded Michael Keane on the subs bench.

What I don't understand is how anyone is satisfied to play this way basically forever. I'd say 2.5 seasons is a fair interval of taking our medicine.

Is the 2.5 years when our 600 million in debt suddenly disappears. When we magic up a successful scouting network and a great youth system? When we get beyond our ffp problems.

When did dyche try and sign maguire? He didn't because we've no money but in your mind he would have so you're adding it to a list of mistakes. It's just a bit weird

I thought the messiah quote was misjudged.

I'm not a Dyche fan, for the record, I agree that he's the right man for the position the club is in, but I'm not a fan of his.

People do make far too much out of press conferences. Maybe sometimes he could do a better job from a basic PR perspective, but it's small beer.

Anyway, enough argumentative moans from me. Off to watch City hopefully beat Chelsea by 3+ and go top (and maybe even lift us to 19th in the process).

I don't really care if he's likeable, everyone liked Lampard but he was shit at his job.

Everything everyone's complaining about was the same complaints as last season and we finished joint on points with Brighton.

People are understandably annoyed that he played Keane but there were plenty of complaints during pre season that one single pass seemed to split the defence when JOB was paired with Tarks, so there's probably a reason why Dyche didn't want to start him.

It's going to be a long season and I think people need to accept that, and it's not because Dyche is a dinosaur.

I do think Dyche would have given him more of a try if the rest of the team was more effective as we could cope with any shakiness or mistakes, I just don’t think he’s convinced enough by Patto when he has played to trust him when we needed defensive solidity above all. I’m not convinced by his defending either. For me, It’s the same thinking as when people say ‘just play the kids, they can’t be any worse’ because the unknown at least gives hope of something better. He’s not done enough to demand a place in the team and has an issue with injuries

The exact same could have been said about Jared this time last season and it took Keane having a stinker at villa for dyche to play him consistently we can’t be playing Seamus or young for the rest of the season they will be destroyed by any team with pace

He was fit enough to play in the final pre-season game against Sporting and then sit on the bench for the first two matches of the season before Keane's disasterclass at Villa.

Branthwaite was on loan with PSV and then went straight to the U21s tournament in Georgia. England went all the way and won it so Jarred had extended time off, afterwards. He only met Dyche for the first time shortly before the season started. Then he was injured.
