New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
I read that at the time as Everton FC doing Everton FC stuff to be quite honest, and just blagging after the fact.
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
What else can people post other than links from the club or Meis though? The article is from the Everton Stadium website and I'm guessing written around 2018 before any building even started, it clearly states how the stand will be built and how it will appear and that's exactly what the finished stand looks like. Not everything the club posts is bollocks but I think that's the stage people have got to thinking, that and the fact we live in world where people always seem to want an alternative to the official channels. It just feels like the last few pages some of you have been desperate to keep pushing an agenda against the club and keep it going no matter what links anyone's posted.

Disappointed there’s not a few rows of hammocks for those of us that like to put their feet up with a coffee sometimes.
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Or we’re just a bit underwhelmed by one aspect of the ground?
Not everything is an agenda.
I get it, we’re all excited for the ground so nothing but positive thoughts.
I’m excited myself, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit underwhelmed by the inside of the ground and the south stand.
I worry the south stand isn’t going to be what a lot of people expect, and over time we may look back and wish we went bigger on the capacity.
That’s fine. If it wasn’t for this discussion not much else would be going on on here.

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
It’s only a couple of people in this thread that have been like a dog with a bone on this issue, the majority have been trying to explain that it is what it is for good reason and no promises have been broken. I guess now that this issue appears to have been begrudgingly accepted they will move on to criticising the as yet unfinished interiors.
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
This is just classic internet isn’t it.
Getting increasingly harder to have a normal discussion about things.
I’ve been universally positive about the ground, I think the club have done a great job, I’m just disappointed with one aspect of it. I know when I speak to people tomorrow they’ll be a lot who think the same as me.
Because of that I’m some sort of crank with an agenda?

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Its really strange how people arent 'allowed' to be disappointed? Whats the issue?
It isnt going to look the same as it was first projected? thats a fact surely? So what is the problem? Of course as a whole its amazing and going to be massive for us hopefully. But yeah, inside currently its pretty standard. Which is a little disappointing.
There is no agenda against the club apart from the fact they bend the truth a lot of the time. Thats sound, were used to it.
It doesnt matter what links are posted to prove certain stuff.... if people are disappointed, then they are disappointed!!! its not a massive criticism or a big deal.

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
We're speculating on things we don't know, and some of the concerns might be largely unfounded, or not.
IT IS the same as others, like Spurs and Dortmund, and the latter does generate an amazing atmosphere. Its not long, so lets wait and see.
More importantly for me, with my eyesight on the wane, is did we actually go with the plans to install the biggest screens ever used at stadiums in the UK at both ends, or just go standard?

Personally I'm not underwhelmed at all but then I hadn't convinced myself there was going to be something the club doesn't appear to have said there was going to be. But when people start saying that the club have binned off the original design or quietly changed the plans and then get several people posting links and pictures from years ago showing the stadium is just as planned but still dismiss them then it starts looking like an agenda.TheRam wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 9:55 am Or we’re just a bit underwhelmed by one aspect of the ground?

It's probably part of a wider issues these days with social media in general, there is so much distrust and conspiracies around that no matter what is presented to people they'll either ignore it or dismiss it as lies. People read on Twitter several years ago that it would be the same as Dortmund and be called the Blue Wall so the club must have changed plans or lied it about because that's not what the finished stand looks like.
I do agree about the capacity though.

Hang on a sec, you called me out for showing my disappointment over TFG purchase and not letting people get excited!!?Audrey Horne wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 10:10 am Its really strange how people arent 'allowed' to be disappointed? Whats the issue?

Its not a fact at all, it is the same as was first stated, its people perception that has differed and their understanding based on their interpretation of the terminology used, which I think is fine, and largely understandable, but it has been built as per the original plans.
This is the image used on the launch of the stadium at the very first workshop, which depicts 3 options, its clear they went with option 3, far right, so its been built exactly as planned

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
The seats are slightly disappointing that there's not even EFC or anything on them but I'd imagine that's due to sponsorship etc. It was probably easier to just order 50 odd thousand blue seats for now then in time depending on sponsors etc they'll have white seats added with sponsors or logos or the club name/initials. Then they'll have plenty spare blue seats for when some inevitably get damaged.
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Yes, definitely a case of crossed wires but I think enough was put out by Meis, the club and the local press to make people think we were getting something different.
Stuff like the blue wall, and comparisons to dortmund were pushed by Meis and the media.
But, it is being built as planed.
So my issue is the over reliance on safe standing and the divide making it more likely the upper tier sits so we don’t get the full impact.
Wait and see though. I’m still very excited and may even get a ticket in the south stand myself.
The ground should be bigger though.

Just talking about my own personal response to basically anything the club ever writes, not criticisng the posters, just explaining why I ignored it.Gash wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 9:47 am What else can people post other than links from the club or Meis though? That it's from 2018 - fair enough, I honestly think I have just been wrong. I've misread or misunderstood the Comms around the stand and my expectations haven't been right - or I don't know enough about stands in the first place.
I don't appreciate you painting me as some sort of conspiracy theorist, I've been as open as possible - is this the case has it always been the case - because I genuinely wanted to understand it.
My understanding going into this one stand thing has clearly been wrong.

Yeah but saying youre disappointed that its not one continuous stand cos it was misunderstood to be a blue wall (which was tweeted constantly by the architect)
Its a bit different from writing how TFG are the devils in disguise?! (I am paraphrasing
