Maybe on the promise of a role as DOF if Thelwell is not going to be kept on.
Can’t see how you could promise him Thelwells job and there’s no way he would accept an 18 game contract, finding the right players on a limited budget ? If he were appointed tomorrow he would have about three weeks to do so. Think we should forget about Moyes.

I'm absolutely not disputing dyche has been poor this season (and it's gotten worse) just the suggestion that these players are anything but bottom 6 and the dof has done a good job is equally daft as suggesting dyche is doing well
12th best team in the league last season so it’s not daft at all.

Take Wolves out of the results and we have scored 4 goals in over 3 months of football. Even including Wolves, only 6 goals have been scored from our players in over 3 months.

Excluding Wolves, that’s 18 hours of football. That’s 1 goal every 4.5 hours of football. 1 goal every 3 games.

It’s just indefensible.

I think he’d accept it if the money was right, didn’t he take a short term SOS at West Ham?
I’m sure all out of work managers still keep their eye on players, and I’m pretty sure he’s kept an eye on us too. He’ll know exactly what we need.

And no I’m not after Moyes as our next manager, just interim.

I'd be very surprised if Moyes took a 6 month interim role anywhere. He had something to prove at West Ham when he did it, his stock is much higher now.

Only way Moyes comes here is as permanent manager.

Wasn’t Moyes in the press recently specifically taking that he wouldn’t take another role to battle relegation? I get that money talks but this seems pretty clear:

I sensed he was suggesting ask me before then. If he was offered the right deal he'd take it I think.

It must be hard to keep a squad performing at maximum level constantly. If their very best is 14th it doesn't take much of a drop off from even half the squad to have you in trouble.
We're more than a change of manager away from any real improvement between now and the end of the season.

Moyes is generally very slow at getting up and running, we used always get fed up that our season rarely started before December.

Sooner he retires and we can stop this monthly call for him to come back the better. You'd think there was no other managers out there.

Yeah that's incredibly daft. I'm not sure how they argument proves the players are better but not the manager. They all overperformed last season and they are all a bit shit really.

When we get a new manager and spend money will you be expecting an improvement on that 12th because I think you'll be disappointed if you do.

Always an interesting debate the players v manager one, in case any of us didn't read it the 50 previous times it's been done.

I don’t want him, but if we’re getting shut of Dyche now then I’d trust Moyes to keep us up, then start afresh in the summer. I don’t think I’d trust the likes of Potter to keep us up with this squad, this squad suits Moyes.

Nobody can convince me this is all they’re capable of.

1 open goal in ten games. Come on lads.
What kind of change in tactics or formation or team selection would you make?

Just to geg in on this, I don't think it's entirely down to that. You improve players, implement patterns of play and earn your wage as a manager on the training pitch through the week. Tactics/Formation/Selection are obviously important but you could have the same XI on the pitch with instructions to 'press' under Hurzeler (who is currently at Brighton) and it would looked entirely different to what we see with Dyche even with the same players and formation.
