Changed my mind on this seeing as he thinks Ben Godfrey is worth signing

I’m terrified that they’ll let him see out the season, and I’m equally terrified they’ll sack him but bring in someone shit

The scenario TFG were hoping: see out contract and stay up

Instead, they need to be bold and take action

Report in the Times today West Ham have promised him money to spend on players in January if he signs, reportedly he has asked for 24 hrs to consider.

Whether or not you rate Potter, he definitely doesn’t seem like a good mid-season appointment to turn things around

At this stage, any manager who can come in and coach ways to break teams down in open play will be very welcome.

Defensively, we have a great foundation, which is a huge positive for a lot of prospective managers. They then get to come in and do the fun bit which is teaching us how score goals.

Surely Potter would fit that bill alongside a number of other talented managers.

Let’s be honest, he’s choosing West Ham over Everton every day of the week

Do we have great foundations defensively, or are we just drilled, and drilled and drilled how to defend, in huge numbers?

Realistically 3 of the back 4 struggle to get in most teams in the league, but when you get 10 players behind the ball it makes it a lot harder for the opposition to break us down, thats all we do. You break that mould and then expect that back 4 to defend and I think you would soon see that those foundations arent that sound at all.

We have decent defenders decent players for most areas of the pitch just not players who want or can play the stupid tactics they are being asked to play
