That's not strictly true. Team news for the first game of the season had people calling for him to be sacked on herefxceltic wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 6:43 pm Dyche got sacked cos he can’t win a fucking game, the style of football would have been less relevant if results were there
The style of football thing is so lazy, it’s what fans of other clubs are trotting out as our justification and it’s just utter bollocks
Every one of us would have taken this shit til the end of the season if results were good enough to guarantee survival

Re: Next Everton Manager
I’m not sure the owners would see it that way (the nothing to do with me part) if a new manager takes us down. We’re not in the bottom 3 (yet) and there’s half a season to go. I’d imagine they’ll be fully expecting the new guy to keep us up.MayorFarnham wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 6:27 pm Imperative we stay up. If we appoint a permanent manager he can say "nothing to do with me" if we go down. But we will have to start next season well or we will be in a deep hole with another potential sacking in 6 months time.

Re: Next Everton Manager
Baines & Coleman are going to be our version of Clough & Taylor (no, I’m not that old, but my dad proper dug them)
Re: Next Everton Manager
Yeah but context matters, I’d rather he went weeks back but in context I’d rather he was able to keep us up and we could review properly in the summer777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 6:53 pm That's not strictly true. Was that before or after he set a club record for games without a win777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 6:53 pm That's not strictly true. Team news for the first game of the season had people calling for him to be sacked on here

Prefer Carsley, but if not I think Mourinho might not give us success, but won't get us relegated either. Plus he will give us something we've needed for decades, which is teach us how to play like c*nts when we need to.

Re: Next Everton Manager
Short term it has to be Moyes because he'll keep us up. Longer term I'd like Carsley or Rohl or the RBL manager with Moyes upstairs as DOF

TFG "We are going to bring Moyes in"
Thelwell "Great idea. What's the longer-term plan?"
