You're a madhead, Waltzer.

Who's getting appeased by a token appointment that nobody wants?

It's exactly the kind of thing you'd be moaning about if it happened.

If he comes in and pulls a Pienaar, an Arteta and a Tim Cahill out of his arse, we'll all fall in love with football all over again.

Whatever you think of Moyes, he does have an eye for a bargain and the ability to make a team greater than the sum of it's parts.

Yes, it feels like a "safe pair of hands" appointment, but ultimately, we NEED to start next season in our shiny new home as a Premier League team. Moyes is more than capable of delivering that at least.

None of it makes sense, why not just add to it. Were getting a manager nobody really wants, we might as well get an assistant we don't too.

It’s a bit reductive to label Martinez as a complete joker. I think some of us haven given him that label because of his fundamental inconsistency as a coach. He used to speak in grandiose terms about his footballing philosophy but he was actually quite bad at instilling his philosophy in the team or having long-term plans for what types of players he wanted to add to realize it. What he was actually good at was watching tons of football, noticing small details about other teams, and exploiting them via one-off game plans. I don’t think his knockout prowess was entirely luck, although he did need (and get) some of it. He completely clears Moyes as a cup manager, no debate needed.

Of course, when you throw in poor oversight of fitness and nutrition, falling in love with players for silly, superficial reasons (the eye test is very biased in the wrong hands), and completely punting set pieces (which should be catnip for someone so good at noticing the fine details of the game), he was a terrible club manager. But, to his credit, he’s milked the fuck out of the bit he does well.
Love a good kramer post.

Since Moyes we've had..

The young hipster manager from the Iberian peninsula - Silva / Martinez

High profile name who thinks he's too big for the club. Ancelotti / Koeman / Lampard

Tactical appoinment of a Dinosaur to avoid the drop.. Dyche/Allardyce

The DoF must have just done a line appointment.. Benitez

I mean.. which do you want.. another one similar to the above , or pick a name from a hat?

Dunno.. I'm tired man, new stadium and owners or not.. sometimes you just have to come home to something familiar. I could handle a bit of Davey Moyes right now, personally.

Coleman, Baines, Stones, Pienaar, Saha, Jags, Cahill, Arteta.. net spend of next to nothing. I'd love just a couple of those in their prime right now.

Not sure you can say that ?
When you're fearful of relegation and it's half way through the season it's unlikely you will get who you want. That's before you look at the state of the club and squad in general.

His performance in the transfer market was superb, we would have been sunk without it, he frustrated us all at times with his style, the cup final with the shite sticks out, think he had Wet Ham playing some good attacking stuff at times but their fans never wanted him from the start.
should have had him after the Koeman nightmare for me, was just the man to sort out all the shite signings before the financial shite came on top

Oh well it looks like it's done, no Carlos getting sacked from Napoli will save us this time.

I hope he hits the ground running, and he'll have my full support, until we lose against Villa....
