You wasn’t right about iwobi.

I’am very willing to derail the thread on this.

I've derailed it enough let's just leave it. Everyone else was right, Iwobi was dreadful and the cause of all our problems. What we needed was someone who could deliver end product like Ndiaye. Goals and assists are what matter.

Just an unusual opinion going against the grain for whatever reason.

Followed by exaggerated reasons.

He looked good in that highlight clip and looked good when he came on. He definitely helped change the game in our favour and I don’t think you can really judge how well anyone played off a two minute highlight clip.

He’s a 22 year old lad on loan at Everton from Brazil.

I don’t think anyone expects the finished article but he looks a promising player.

Looked busy, wanted the ball, wanted to do something with it when he got it, not afraid to dribble forward with it, looked to link up with others... Not much to dislike really. Yes the ball looked a bit 'bobbly' around his feet so maybe he's not technically brilliant but also it generally stuck so not Beto levels of deficiency.

There was one moment that I really liked that is small but said a lot about him imo. He received the ball in the centre circle or just inside the opposition half... He popped it backwards which would normally infuriate everyone and illicit groans from the crowd (Doucoure does this and it's painfully annoying), however he immediately spun in to space looking for he ball back or the next one after. Compared to Doucoure who just fails to turn with the ball and any momentum breaks down this felt more like a quick pop off and move in to space... It's not a huge moment in the match but imo shows his mindset which I liked.

He's a bit raw, doesn't know his teammates and lost his footing in a physical duel that should have cost us a goal, but overall it was a promising debut imo.

You can think it was a bad cameo/debut if you like. You’d be wrong but whatever.
But even if it was right I’m not sure how saying someone was crap works when it was a debut, a sub coming on for half hour or whatever with his team 2-0 down and he clearly changed the game, made things happened and hit the post.
It just feels like complaining to be edgy to me. But it comes across as stupid

I can surely think he looked crap!

If I'm wrong I'm wrong sound, it's opinions, but the context is - I missed the game, I came on here and twitter to check everyone's thoughts, generally really positive okay nice, I watched the highlight video and was really underwhelmed.

I liked the flick on to Doucs and I liked the touch and drive through the middle, but in general I thought - this is quite crap tbh considering what I've just read.

Anyway! The ground is well and truly trod.

So he did a good flick on, a good drive through the middle.
And he hit the post from a free kick.
All in a 30 sub debut appearance while 2-0 down to one of the most in form teams in the country.
Yeah, crap!

No one is saying you’re not allowed your opinion it just seems a very bizarre one to even try and spin.

You're ignoring all the cross field overhit balls to Harrison (of which there was a total of 1) and him getting 'bodied' by Justin Kluivert which definitely wasn't him slipping on the surface.

Shite. Send him back to South America

In fairness to Brap - I experienced the same thing. I missed the game, heard the hype, looked forward to it and yes - there was good stuff, but I was also a bit underwhelmed. There was stuff in there I thought we’d get punished for if it’s happening on the regular.

But that’s it. Mixed bag. Some will focus on the best, some the worst, and some will have different opinions.

At the end of the day, we all want him to be great, and there’s a chance he might be. But that was a mixed bag.
