Re: Beto
Great to see him getting in the goals.
It's funny, his very first game in the cup was a really cool finish and I thought we have a player here...then it never really clicked with how Dyche was playing and he always seemed like he was trying too hard and snatching at his chances (when he got them on occasion).
Now, getting a little bit of that confidence he had originally coming back. Interested to see how he can finish the season.

Re: Beto
Take the rough with the smooth.
The rough is his hold up play is very poor.
The smooth is he slots any time he’s infront of goal.
Hard to see DCL getting three goals in two premier league games.
Play to his strengths and we have a serious striker on our hands.

Re: Beto
Agree, when there’s space in behind for him to use power and pace to be one v one. The counter is that it’s quite easy to prevent that though and it’s quite one dimensional. Love it. Hope we can maximise it. But the pragmatist in me is just telling me that as soon as teams are onto this, they’ll shut the door on it.TheRam wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 11:57 pm Take the rough with the smooth.

Re: Beto
It feels like the sort of chance there will be lots more if in the Italian league.*

Re: Beto
He’s had three chances in the last three games and slotted them all with ease.
All one touch finishes, all with great movement off the shoulder.
That part of his game is genuinely brilliant. He’s strong, quick and can finish. There’s too much there for us not to give him every chance to succeed.

Re: Beto
His all round game is extremely poor for this standard. His flick ons go the opposite way and back towards the halfway line, when he does manage to hold it up he has no understanding of which way to turn and often runs away from where he should be going, he can be easily marked out of a game by just purely not allowing him to run in behind.
I'm not trying to be a downer on him, it's just the plain reality of the situation and at his age there's next to no chance he can develop all the attributes required to be a premier league player.
Made up for him that he's bagged a few as he seems like an extremely lovable guy, and let's face it we really need him right now. I just view any goals he scores between now and the end of the season as hopefully some extra pounds on the price tag when we move him on.
