Just goes to show that it’s actually fraudulent to call Dyche a football manager.

Seems like he can’t actually manage people or get folk to play football.

Absolutely no reason to get rid.

We don't need to sell in the summer to bring in, at least not as much.

Keep the good vibes with him going.

Dom's out, there's no reason I could conceive why we'd want to sell Beto.

Another really positive indicator for him is that some really good CBs - Guehi, Lacroix, VVD, Konate - look like they're having a horrible time playing against him. They look knackered and battered and bruised by the end of 90 minutes, which is a huge testament to his effort and stamina.

American Evertonian wrote: Sat Feb 15, 2025 9:56 pm Was coming here to post that exact stat. It’s criminal that Dyche spent all of this time with Beto and couldn’t realize he needed to be able to run onto the ball.

I’m sure Dyche will get a desperate club battling relegation to sign him at least one more time, but he really needs to be managing at a level more fitting of his tactical ability like League One or Two.
I watch a lot of League 1 football and even there the football has moved on from hoof ball. Dyche's style isn't really anywhere in the professional game in England anymore, it's moved on. The majority of teams try and play, obviously there are exceptions, but they tend to be the old school managers who are still lingering (Steve Evans at Rotherham is a good example).

You can tell by the players comments that dyche took no time to improve them as individuals.

He gave up on beto within a few months and he’s only still here because of injuries to other players.

Genuinely excited to see how good he can become.

He’s brilliant infront of goal. He just has that instinct of knowing exactly what to do when he’s in sight.

That with the incredible physical attributes he has makes for a very exciting player to lead the line.

It may be a flash in the pan, but he has a lot more to his game that somebody like Jelavic did.

I wonder if we might see Ferguson back in the fold? He always seems to work well with strikers and could help Beto tidy up certain parts of his game.

Easy to forget because he’s 27 that he’s still very young in football years.

I think this is only his 5th season as a professional footballer so there’s still a lot of improvement to come but all the tools are there.

Wasn’t the likes of Wright, Ferdinand and more recently Vardy all late starters in their professional careers?

When we signed him I was over the moon. I followed him at Udinese, because he was a monster for them. I really liked the way he played.

When he came here I couldn't understand what was going on? I knew there was a player there and when people on here wrote him off I thought it was strange as I knew what he could do.

I am very happy he is now starting to show what he can do. 1 on 1 he will score. If we play to his strengths he will give his all and will score. Anyone can see his commitment.

I hope he keeps this up as I knew he could do this. You have to think why Dyche failed with him and a couple others? I do blame him for the way Beto played before.

It's just so nice isn't it, he's getting his time to shine and it's working out, he's bagging, he's kicked on in his all round play, he is gobbling it up. He was dead and buried a few months ago and he's the king right now.

Will be interesting to see if he can keep up the overall work rate as he looks completely dead on his feet towards the end of games. He's clearly putting in 110% but I'm not sure he has the stamina to do it week in week out over a prolonged period.

That's not a criticism, more a question of whether he'll pick up an injury or just naturally fade in his performance levels when the exertion catches up with him, especially with games coming thick and fast.

Loving the Beto redemption arc either way, he's been invaluable in getting us safe since DCL got injured so whatever happens from here on he's going to be well loved by the supporters.
