The Beto goal for example, not sure if it's just ally mccoist bleating in my ear but I just couldn't enjoy it. Desperate to look at every angle to find some reason to disallow.

I was fully expecting it to be.

Not because I thought there was an infraction or anything. Just because I thought it would be the bleakest thing to happen

9 times out of 10 that seems to be what we witness at Everton. Absolute poster children for "what can go wrong will go wrong" at times.

They'll 100% not address the actual foul / fouls and will continue to repeat the offence for which the ref blew was deemed a clear and obvious error.
If that’s what the ref blew for then he made a clear and obvious error - as the penalty should have been for the two shirt pulls - and therefore VAR should have picked that up!!!

I quite like McCoist on co-commentary.

Same, he’s my favourite by a long way.

Just seems to be having a great time. I stopped wanting proper analysis a long time ago.

I used to really enjoy his sort of naïve enthusiasm, but grates on me so much now.

After the Tark goal they had to cut his Comms because he has no awareness and was blabbering on.

Osman > McCoist every day of the week.

Actually think Ossie might be the best co commentator around.

Exactly what I meant, it wasn't that I thought there was anything to disallow it for, but that they would view any contact as an excuse not to allow it. Purely because that's what generally seems to happen to us.

By and large I find the less high profile a player they were the better they are on co coms. Probably because they have to put their back into it as they will be judged on the quality of what they offer rather than trade on their name.

I think football fans are willing to accept characters over competence more than fans of any other sport.

The quality of co coms on cricket, golf, motorsport and so on leaves football standing.

It does often leave me wondering if most have even bothered to watch much footy, especially people like Shearer on MOTD who I could swear blind hasn't even watched most of the games he's talking about apart from a few key highlights.

I want a co commentator that genuinely understands the teams they're talking about not just trot out the Ashley Young used to play with Dyche at Watford kind of thing that they think makes them sound knowledgeable when it has absolutely nothing to do with the game they're watching or the team that person is playing for.

I like him as a pundit. Pre-match, etc.

Whilst often provide good insight, he can be awful at times on commentary.

I think the commentary is so bad because he just talks shite ! Basically man down the pub shite.

He also repeats the same thing/words over and over.

ALso, ruins moments.... similar to the last min derby goal, cutting his mic cos he was about to bleat on about 'they want a foul'

You learn to shut up i think, as a commentator. And allow the fans to have the moment. Maybe he will learn when to speak?
