So where do we expect to finish given the upturn in form and players coming back from injury over the next month like Broja, Patterson and Chermiti, possibly Ndaiye although we still don't have much info on him?
I don't think we could finish any higher than 12th, but if we manage to beat Brentford it'd put them potentially within reach and an 11th placed finish.
I think realistically we should aim for 12th, which would be back to back seasons of finishing there in terms of points gained at least if you removed last season's points deductions.
Season's exceptions
Re: Season's exceptions
Lose on Wednesday and 12th is the best you can hope for, would be happy enough with 14th considering where we were 6 weeks ago. Don’t think the possible return of Broja, Patterson or Chermiti is going to have a major impact other than at least having half way decent cover for injuries/suspensions.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 10:09 am So where do we expect to finish given the upturn in form and players coming back from injury over the next month like Broja, Patterson and Chermiti, possibly Ndaiye although we still don't have much info on him?

Re: Season's exceptions
14-16th for me. Saturday was really annoying and it stopped us opening up a gap over United and West Ham below.
Think our lack of depth will hinder us and we've got a tough run coming up in April (although no reason we can't pick up points). Teams like Tottenham and United will likely string together a few results. West Ham, Palace, Brentford and even Fulham will give most teams a decent game, and with the pressure off they'll pick up wins along the way. But then, with not much to play for, they could also tail off towards the end of the season.
I've thrown my toys out the pram after Saturday, so it's not really about where we finish now. It'll just be nice to enjoy our last few matches at Goodison (if only I could get to one) in the knowledge that we're all but out of relegation trouble in February.

Re: Season's exceptions
Don't have any tbh. Would like to keep winning obviously but if we end up 16th then that's okay considering we're on about 13 first team players fit and the 13 we have aren't all that.
If they can get fit then hoping Patto and Chermiti can get some decent showings in alongside seeing what Tim and Alcaraz can do to assess the future of the squad for next season.
West Ham, Arsenal, City, Ipswich and Southampton all at Goodison are the only fixtures I'm bothered about.

Re: Season's exceptions
Just enjoy the moment, mate.
We're pretty much out of harm's way, last season at Goodison, Moyes has brought back the feel-good factor, the team are allowed to pass the ball to each other (and sometimes even forward), new owners, new stadium and squad overhaul in the summer. And spring is on its way.
Position-wise, we're nowhere near where we really want to be. But these are heady days compared to the last few years and, hopefully, there are signs of better things to come.

Re: Season's exceptions
Finish with 40/42pts, can't see us winning a game until May ,maybe do West Ham at home, April looks a write off, thank fuck we've had a good run or it would be unbearable again
Re: Season's exceptions
Was going to comment on the thread title but I'll make an expectation this one time.
Re: Season's exceptions
Yeah 12th at best I think.
Would be made up at that the way things where going.

Re: Season's exceptions
Don't really care. Continue to play quite well. Pick up some results. We could do that and finish 16th
It feels weird not having anything to play for. We are just wanting it over so we can get on with our better future hopefully
