Dyche can destroy me for £100k a week.

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Some things never change, and one of those things is that once people have made their mind up about a player (especially if it has nothing to do with what we're actually seeing on the pitch) then they'll ignore anything that would prove them wrong, even if he started scoring.brap2 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 1:09 pm Listening to the Holy Trinity Pod and there's a fella saying DCL doesn't look interested he's not making runs, whereas Beto looks like he wants to play and that's all we want at Everton.
I forget there's people out there who think like this tbh. All he's fucking doing is making runs for god's sake.
Fella in front of me at city was the same. Smirking at how Broja had ran more than DCL had all day heh heh heh. One of them who was shouting put keano on up front heh heh heh he'll score a hat trick heh heh heh.
Dom has gone through a few cycles of this.
Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
What does that have to do with my prediction of how he will do at Atalanta? Besides, he’s never played under a more turgid manager than Dyche.

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Many things can be true at the same time in this situation. I think DCL is doing about as well as he can to be useful in this system, he does do a lot for the team and I think there is a noticeable drop off to Beto and Broja in that department.
That said, it doesn't entirely invalidate the fact that for example Beto does seem get more attempts on goal and I don't think that's just down to the stage in the game even if it would play a part. Maybe DCL is too jaded at this point and he assumes a good delivery isn't coming, or he can't throw his body at chances in the same way due to injuries, who knows.
I also think playing style aside, Dyche should seemingly get some credit still for the fact that he's not been endlessly breaking down during the season. I think people have forgotten a little how bad it was with DCL and it seemed like we'd never see him play regularly again for a while there.

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
I think Dyche has done a flawless job with DCLs fitness. Genuinely magnificent. DCL should be thanking him every day for managing his return and not flogging him like a mule the way Benitez etc did.
Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
That's true. He might hate the way he has the team playing, but he did genuinely save his career.Bob Sacamano wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 9:09 pm I think Dyche has done a flawless job with DCLs fitness. I suppose there is a difference between showing an interest and actually following that through

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
He will do well in a good team with proper creative players around him I think some of our fans are not fans of his because of his personal life he is a very good player and I hope he does well for himself
Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
His personal life is just that and he’s always conducted himself perfectly as far as I’m concerned. My only criticism is he doesn’t score enough - yes some of that is on tactics etc but equally I think he could and should have done better than he has. The not trying stuff is a nonsense IMO
I think he’d likely do better in a more attacking line up and wouldn’t mind if he stayed here, unlikely as it seems.

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
I agree but I was in a pub watching the derby last season and when he scored the shite supporters were going on about his skirt and handbag and a few of our supporters there were agreeing with themNickNack wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 7:17 pm His personal life is just that and he’s always conducted himself perfectly as far as I’m concerned.
