At least it's not dragged on. Decision on return from holiday and all that stuff we get this time of year.

Not hard to achieve that when you’ve bought about 60 young playersCannockPricey wrote: ↑Wed May 28, 2025 8:53 pm Sure MOTD said they had fielded the youngest ever set of players in the PL this current season.

Re: Liam Delap
Yeah, they certainly have a very distinct transfer policy but if he's good, he'll play there. Reece James has played since a very young age (injuries aside), Palmer got regular football there before he was going to at City, Madueke and Colwill have both played plenty despite being similar age or younger than Delap when they signed.Cereal Killer wrote: ↑Thu May 29, 2025 1:26 pm Not hard to achieve that when you’ve bought about 60 young players
If he does well, he'll play there.
In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream.
Re: Liam Delap
Not too arsed about signing a striker if we keep DCL.
Use the money elsewhere. Delap at £30m represented a great opportunity for us. I’m not sure that opportunity is anywhere else.
Beto leading us to glory in the new ground it is then.

Re: Liam Delap
It sounds like he's been pretty up front and honest with all the clubs, he's gone round them all to see what the package and facilities are etc rather than just let his agent sell to the highest wage payer. I can see why Chelsea would be attractive, Maresca's played a lot of young players this season and he'll fancy his chances of getting a game, CL football will be a big pull for him too. Fair play to him, he hasn't led anyone on and then changed his mind at the last minute and he seems to have gone about it in a fair manner.

Re: Liam Delap
I'd love the version of Evan ferguson that Brighton first had. The only way that makes any sense though is with a reasonable option to buy
Re: Liam Delap
Relegation players looking for Champions League, ah well...move on. Happy for Beto to lead the line, let DCL go bring another backup next to Chermiti and invest elsewhere

Re: Liam Delap
Kalimeundo at Rennes, Burkhardt at Mainz, Kleinedienst at gladbach. Alternative players are there, and probably representing better value than Delap.

Re: Liam Delap
seemed a bit rich a championship player only wanting champions league or
european footy after one season in the prem with a relegated team
but.....
at least he talked to us and was very complimentary and the decision has been made - it means clubs can now look elsewhere and change their transfer objectives
seems like a decent lad and i guess nothing wrong with being ambitious and confident in your own ability - bit like palmer when he left city to play for chelsea fair play

Re: Liam Delap
He's not a championship player though. He had two championship loans from Man City when he was 19 and 20, and then has spent the last year in the Premier league after a permanent move to Ipswich.Evertonfc15 wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 7:30 am seemed a bit rich a championship player only wanting champions league or

Re: Liam Delap
I've watched as much of Ferguson as I can in hope that he will get back to his best for Ireland. I just don't see it happening. Potter hardly used him at all for West Ham. He's lost that initial burst of pace because of the injuries and his confidence is low. It would be a big risk to take him on.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Thu May 29, 2025 2:18 pm I'd love the version of Evan ferguson that Brighton first had.
