Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation
Didn't the commission rule that we gained no sporting advantage? So surely that invalidates any compo for those scummy little clubs?

Don’t know where that statements come from, but the chair of the commission saidBluedylan1 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 2:14 pm Didn't the commission rule that we gained no sporting advantage? So surely that invalidates any compo for those scummy little clubs?
Phillips said he was "satisfied that the applicant clubs have potential claims for compensation" - but noted the commission holds no "inherent jurisdiction" and it is instead "the role of the Premier League to bring and prosecute complaints".
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation
In my mind, a 3 point deduction would have been satisfactory in that we are guilty, and they wanted to make a point.
However, what they have done in this judgement is set an extremely harsh and very challenging precedent for themselves. 10 points is now the threshold. If you have been found guilty of charges that are more severe than ours, then you will find yourselves with an extremely hefty punishment, which could potentially relegate you.

I think that's just the Daily Mail piling on. I think the 10 points will be reduced on appeal and I can't see any case for compensation, if they ruled that we gained no sporting advantage.Cereal Killer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 2:15 pmDon’t know where that statements come from, but the chair of the commission saidBluedylan1 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 2:14 pm Didn't the commission rule that we gained no sporting advantage? Think this is nowhere near being over. Juve were given a 15 points deduction last season, saw it completely removed and then 10 point deduction decided in like the last 5 matches of the season.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation
Just wanted to know, when we appeal, do we get the 10 points back till the final committee decision or 10 points will be docked starting from now and then gets readjusted to whatever it is after the final decision?

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation
Yeah, I don’t believe it’s over either. All the more reason to raise as much of a stink as possible in the mean time.
It’s huge threat to our PL status, as I really don’t believe we can be complacent whoever is down there as teams can go on a run and we can’t count on our form continuing in this vein as we can’t completely forget our start to the season.
Will need an appeal to be done within this season though.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation
Surely only Burnley and Leicester would have grounds for compensation anyway? Leeds finished 19th. Hell, we gave Nathan Jones his only ever Premier League win.

Isn't the maximum 12 points or am I making that up. So if you're honest and just have 1 case of spending 5 billion too much you can only lose 12 points?? That's not a deterrent for the super rich.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation
Can it rise to 12 points if we lose the appeal?
"And you can put that in your ******* black book"

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation
Even then how would it work. If we should have gone down the 1st season then we shouldn't even be there to get relegated the second season instead of Leicester. Surely we can't be punished 3 seasons running for 1 breach. Sued, sued and points deduction. We were only over in 1 3 year period weren't we? Surely Leicester don't have a claim under they are glad it's late so it wasn't the burnley season but now it's too late
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation
If this stands, City and Chelsea should be relegated and denied promotion for like 10 years.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation
If the appeals process is anything like the VAR process then I have very little hope
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation
Yes, just like every player retrospectively adjudged to have dived has been punished as harshly as Niasse was.Gary1878 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 2:16 pm In my mind, a 3 point deduction would have been satisfactory in that we are guilty, and they wanted to make a point.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation
The bit that gets me the most after reading the transcript is that the commission are saying the PL want to establish a ruling where any breach of the financial policy is 6 points, with an additional point for every 5m a club is over the 105m. We were 20m over so 4 additional points bringing it to 10.
The commission state they won’t be dictated to by the PL in terms of punishment and then give us a 10 point deduction with zero reasoning as to how they landed on the number
