If Hackney comes in I’d play him in the 10 drop kdh back into midfield with guey/tim and garner

I think I’d like someone who can play quicker? Get us playing on the ball, up the tempo, play vertically. I think I’d like someone who defends space a bit better as well. Pace and power as well.

I get it though he’s a good player not in a rush to replace considering the terrible options elsewhere but imo we’ll see some evolution in CM this summer, especially with potentially Tim Charly and Gana maybe going and Moyes using KDH as a forward really…are you that confident in our CM options?
I think Garner playing slowly is as much about passing options and people showing for the ball as it is about him.

On midfield options, if it’s Moyes in charge then the players we have are capable enough to do what he wants. We only need new midfielders when we move to a manager who actually wants possession of the ball and interplay somewhere besides the final third

🚨Everton have been firmly knocked back by Middlesbrough for their initial approach to sign Hayden Hackney. There is a sizeable distance in valuation

How dare they reject our £5 and a free stadium tour offer. Absolutely disgusting.

Jack grealish, KDH, Ndiaye, George, Gana are able to receive a ball quickly.

I always want improvements across the board tbh. Gana is maybe going, Tim and Charly might be sold. The only certain player is garner. I’d agree we are stronger in CM than other positions but it sounds like we’re looking to level up/get younger and deeper.

Garner is still young - then we’ve got some really young options below him (Rohl, Tim, Alcaraz, Armstrong).

If we’re selling Tim to get Hackney then I maybe see it but we don’t need a 5th young options at CM.

If Gana goes then there’s arguably a need for an experienced head in there

Think it’s mad you think the cm is just good enough full stop, don’t buy anyone good we’re all sorted.

We finished 13th like.

I want improvements everywhere please.

Do you think we have the budget to be able to improve everywhere this season?

Where would improving the CM fit into your priorities?

I think we do need a passer in there, but I'd put right back, pacey winger, left back and a striker ahead of it, especially if we sign Hackney.

We do need someone who can pick a forward pass though. The way we played and our attacking options didn't help this season, but we also weren't anywhere near good enough or brave enough through the middle.

I think it's always a balance when talented players are available, reasonably priced, and willing to come you maybe make an exception as not a priority position but improves the quality of the team.

Don't know much about Hackney but overall seems like a good deal for us if we can make it happen.

I'll be honest, if this comes off it's not a signing that I can look forward to seeing as a major improvement in that midfield

Why are we not slotting Armstrong here? We don't need another similar player to a profile which we already have in midfield. Are we on a mission to just stock up young english players.

Get in a powerhouse of a midfielder who can get up and down, win aerial battles and can chip in with a few goals.

Again, I’m answering assuming Moyes is in charge - with Moyes in charge we don’t play through the middle and sorting out the fullbacks and wide options is way more important.

I’d sign two fullbacks, three wide options (assuming McNeil is off) and a striker (if we can get money for either Beto or Barry) before I touched CM.

Right now we have O’Brien and Mykolenko as our only fullbacks as Moyes won’t play Patterson or Aznou. We have Ndiaye, McNeil & Dibling as our only wingers.

Compare that to the 5/6 CMs we have
