I think they start with Hackney, Armstrong, KDH in midfield.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2026 1:38 pm Well with garner Tim and norgaard out and Hackney not ready Rohl has to play in midfield otherwise who plays there
Then later in the game if we want to change a midfielder, I wouldn't be surprised to see Rohl move into midfield, and JOB brought on at RB.

Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
I don’t know he mentioned again today how Hackney needs time I would love to see him play Merlin at rb and that midfield but think he won’t
Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
Looking forward to seeing who’s right here.
Will it be the guy who thinks the big centre half will play right back?
Will it be the guy who thinks the centre midfielder will play right back?
What a club

Why is it depressive?
Just a view with the facts that are presented to us at this present time.
What about the presser filled you with glee, please enlighten me?
Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
Bet he's sitting reading this thinking, "I'll just throw Craig Patterson in to really confuse them".

Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
Pickford
Rohl Tarks Branthwaite Myko
Hackney KDH Armstrong
Dibling Barry Ndiaye
I think he plays the same lineup as the last friendly. There’s been no further injuries since then, if he was going to play Rohl in midfield and O’Brien right back he would have done it vs Lille.
George vs Dibling is the only question mark for me, the rest of the team is set

Wouldn't describe myself as being filled with glee, but I am optimistic about how the balance of the squad is shaping up and the amount of young talent in it.Lazarou II wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2026 1:54 pm Why is it depressive?

Obviously still need a right back but Rohl already looks a better option there than O'Brien.
My biggest concerns are Branthwaite getting injured and having to look at Mykolenko spoon the ball beyond the back post for a full 90.
But theres a lot of positives now, Barry looks sharper, McNeil is gone and we've replaced him with a pacey goal threat. Dibling is showing some confidence, George looks good (excitingly good actually), centre midfield is stacked with athletes and ball players, as well as a natural 6 once hes fit.
And we've looked a more dominant team in large spells of pre season.
So not full of glee but far from a meltdown.

Can we just agree to disagree people? It’s fine to discuss and disagree without antagonising the other person for believing differently.
We need balanced points of view on here. Positive, negative and wait and see.
No one is wrong. Yet.

Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
There is a couple of fans here that are happy with what we have done in this transfer window - then it is funny to see a depressed Moyes saying that his squad is low on numbers and not in a position to fight for those European places.
That's what he said - straight out.
By his comments you will also probably see O´Brien at right back and probably Armstrong in midfield sending Hackney to the bench.
Worst of all - he doesn't want a right back just to get a right back - he wants someone that makes us better. Saying that some of the deals was off because of injury tells you all about Moyes thinking that Alistair Johnston is that kind of a right back. No wonder we extended the contract on Mykolenko. I would like to tell Moyes that I rather see O`Brien at right back than wasting money on that Celticboy.
We will win tomorrow - but for god sake - I am allowed to be negative - Moyes has to cheer up and make his squad believe in themselves!
