I was thinking about Barry last night and how we've picked up a tall young striker from La Liga who got double figures for relative peanuts.
Obviously still raw but looking at how much premier league strikers cost we've got a total bargain and it wouldn't take much to flip him for double or triple in a few years.
Think it's a great piece of business.
I don’t think he looks that raw.
He’s not really able to bully defenders physically like he used to but his movement and first touch look better developed than initially expected.
It looks more like he’s going to have an adaptation period where he learns to cope with the pace and strength of PL defenders but after that, he could be the most well-rounded forward we’ve had in forever.

Matheus Fernandes - Southampton to West Ham for 42m
Funny, I was reading thier forum after we signed Dibling and they were all convinced it meant Fernandes was staying. The whole forum was extremely delusional around the two players (and beyond), especially for a side that has spent much of the past 15-20 years outside of the top flight.
Yeah Southampton fans seem one of the more deluded fan bases when I read online opinions.
When the fixtures came out they were talking about relegating us in our last match at Goodison and even throughout the early part of the season convinced they had nowhere near the worst squad in the league.
When it looked like Dibling wouldn't happen they were laughing that his 'big move' was only to Everton and even that didn't happen. Like, you're Southampton. Absolutely nowhere near the size of Everton.

Yeah the "only Everton" shouts made me chuckle.
I like reading other teams forums about players we are linked with / sign and that Southampton is one of the oddest and most detached from reality that I've ever read.

I still think they'll keep Isak. They don't need the money and image is more important to Saudis/Newcastle.
Don't forget Isak was their only striker and this lad isn't really a 9 anyway.
I figured they'd go out and buy another striker still to fill the Wilson role in the remaining days before the window shuts, but I guess we'll see.
They don't need the money, but it's not a great situation and given they're restricted by spending rules selling Isak for a huge number would maybe give them more leeway?
Similar price to Sesko so maybe not completely crazy fee, well by this window's standards anyway.
Very highly rated and probably the best they could attract. Will be interesting to see how he does but wouldn't be surprised if he ends up a good purchase.
Just to add from the BBC:
Sources from United say the initial Chelsea offer was £25m, but the transfer will now be the club's fourth largest sale in history after Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku and Angel di Maria.
That's crazy. Man, they've done some poor business of late if that's their 4th highest sale.
