Yeah very cringe and worrying. Why can't we have someone normal interested in us ?!

Honestly, I don't know how many billionaires are normal. Things like Succession and White Lotus are so good because they're almost certainly true.

I think there's an element of sociopathy/psychopathy/extreme narcissism inherent in the gig.

I don’t think it’s that money turns you into a sociopath, it’s more that the path to that much money requires you to be a sociopath

A couple of important things that Alan Meyers tweeted out:
1) Textor likely will have other investors with him in the acquisition
2) He said “It’s likely an agreement with MSP…and Moshiri would fund the club short term until Textor is in a position to complete the purchase”

So it may take time regardless of who purchases us, so I think MSP and Moshiri will have to bridge the gap with any takeover.

I do wonder what happens to the debt owed to 777 if they go under. If creditors will come for that immediately or if we will have some of that debt that will be reallocated to other creditors.

Im thinking normal in terms of you dont hear from them at all. They dont get involved in the game. They just run the business well. They give money and they hire the right people for the right jobs.

I dont want to know how much cocaine they do off the back of a shaved dog.

Just BE NORMAL AND SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GIVE US YOUR MONEY.

Don't know if this'll work but I've just listened to Simon Jordan and Jim White talking about the Textor links on Talksport.

Surprisingly reassuring.

This is from a Palace fan on another forum -
Palace fan here - Textor bought a big share in the club back in 2021 and the cash was used to fund some excellent purchases. We bought Guehi, Andersen, Olise and loaned Gallagher. Those have set us in good stead. However Textor bought 45% of the business with only 25% of the control. The other 75% is covered by 3 votes from Steve Parish, Josh Harris and David Blitzer. Harris and Blitzer basically let Parish get on with it, and most (sensible) fans are happy with a Palace fan who's done an incredible job in Parish making the decisions.

Textor's view is different, he wants us to be part of a multi-club model and probably spend more money and take more risk. Parish is very cautious, we take minimal risk which is probably why we've got between 40-49 points every single season we've been in the Premier League. If you get Textor, you'll probably sign a load of players from all over the world for peanuts. Some will work, a lot won't, but he does have cash to spend and he has built up connections and a good scouting network. You'll be more like Brighton than Palace. We tend to shop in the Championship and go after players who are near the end of their contracts, available for free, or are just out of favour. The one gamble we took last summer on a Brazilian wonderkid hasn't really gone as planned (Matheus Franca).

From the outside looking in, he'd be a lot better than Moshiri but does also represent risk.

Is my understanding correct that 777 never passed fit and proper by the prem?

I am listening to the Blue Room and one of the fellas is making a big point about how the prem are incompetent because they passes them fit and proper with all the red flags etc.

I work with/for a lot of clients with net worths between £50m and £300m and on the whole, they are all very decent, very kind people, and very much the same as you or I. They all have families and face the same personal issues that we all do. Most of them support football clubs and go to the games (mainly Arsenal!). They just don’t have to worry about where the next paycheck is coming from (which is obviously a big thing).

Problems do not disappear with money, but different ones are created. Different stresses come along with that.

Now as for billionaires, I have no idea. But I assume there is some sort of God complex / ego that comes alongside that level of money and power. However, I don’t see that in my day to day work. I tend to work with UK resident, non domiciled individuals, so perhaps that has something to do with it. I don’t work with anyone from “old/inherited money”.
