A much better way is capped wages, and capped squads. It balances the talent out and makes it fairer and more competitive

I don’t think anyone is struggling to understand that. I think the point is there is A budget - even if it’s only £50M. It may be small but for all the points already mentioned we shouldn’t be going for a marquee signing right now anyway.

So, there’s deals to be done, who knows who might come in, we can still get optimistic and excited. There’s been precious little lately and it’ll probably all end in tears by Monday, but for now - come on you Blue boys!

We also won't have a war chest to spend, so will need some low cost sensible signings.

We need:

RB
LB
DM
AM
RW
ST

Probably all as starting players... Even if we spent £15m on each that comes out as £90m which is completely infeasible.

Plus we'll need about 3 minimum squad players on top of that.

Low cost sensible signings, a few raw but potentially quality young players we aren't relying on but can give minutes to and a few loans. That'll be our summer because we aren't getting £80m for Branthwaite as hoped due to him not performing that great this season, so deals will be low cost and not sexy.

I think some are probably in for a rude awakening in the summer... Or I'm wrong and we buy loads of awesome players, which I'd be delighted about even if I think that's not going to happen.
I think we’ll Pistone the lot

The PSR problem we face is only solved with revenue, not assets which our new rich owners have plenty of.

I'm not sure stadium naming rights, higher ticket prices, other new corporate sponsorships, and a reduction in financing expense are actually going to make all that much of an impact to our shorter term transfer budgets.

We're still going to have to extend the likes of Gana and Doucouré, and get in some very good loan signings, as we won't be splashing £100s of Mil per window like Forest did last season, or like Moyes did at West Ham, any time soon.

We'll hopefully be better situated when the revenue to squad wages ratio system is implemented as we've shifted alot of big earners of the books recently and will likely continue to do so with Holgate and Keane etc. The increased revenue will help us more here, but we'll still be well behind the big boys.

Let's just be in the Prem next season please.

Moyes said in his press conference we might have to sacrifice long term strategy to bring in some bodies this window to help us out.

So I'd expect maybe one Walker-Peters / Longstaff incoming that people might not like but he feels we need.

When I can't get to sleep I try and think of Everton players that start with a given letter. I got stuck on P for ages the other night and only managed to get Joe Parkinson and Pickford, it was doing my head in that I couldn't think of more, so thank you for mentioning Pistone.
