Isak's brilliant and I don't see Newcastle selling him tbh... He's a min £100m player and I'm not sure who can afford that, and even at that price it's not really worth them selling.

He'd be perfect for Arsenal but I'm not sure they could afford another transfer record and with Newcastle where they are in the table I'm not sure it's even enough of a step up to tempt him to leave.

You're looking at a Real Madrid or Bayern Munich if he goes and neither need him.

Won't be at Newcastle forever but he'll be there next season imo.

Or maybe if Liverpool came in tbf that'd be a potential move as much as I'd hate to see it.

Yeah, I can’t think they’re looking to replacing Isak with DCL. I imagine he’d be used in a similar way to Dzeko for Man City back when Aguero was the main man for them. Or how Arsenal would throw on Giroud if plan A wasn’t working. A less good version of those sorts of player.

Be a good squad depth signing for Newcastle that. DCL will be happy that he doesn't have to flog himself as well. Would get 10-15 goals in all comps no problem.

Yep probably looks at the ball Guimares played to Isak for his second and thought how he'd rather have 10 mins a week of that than the hoofs to his head for 90 mins he's had to endure with us in recent times.

He's a better finisher than he's shown recently though, I get the argument about the purple patch under Ancelotti being an outlier but his confidence is rock bottom and he's been so starved of service that he was going multiple games without even a single chance being created for him.

He's probably an 8-10 goal a season striker but for many reasons that's not the case right now, but he could get back to it if provided with regular chances. Pretty much what you need from a back up striker when you include his other attributes too.

I think he might have been that once upon a time but 2 years of constant injuries takes its toll which I think is overlooked when it comes to DCL. He might simply just not be that same player anymore.

I am a DCL defender and he gets no service - but he is a horrendous finisher. No way he scores 15 a season playing 15 minutes a week.

I don't normally question the integrity of players, and I know he's not missing chances on purpose obviously.

But, his levels have definitely dropped. He's had a lot of injuries which will take something away inevitably.

And there's the reality that he doesn't want to sign another contract with us. So will getting injured again be in the back of his mind?

He has to stay fit right now for the sake of his career. One more decent sized length of time out injured between now and the end of the season will harm his negotiating position for wage demands. Probably his last chance of a big old fat contract.

The only thing I'd say is, in terms of pressures and runs, he's still right up there.

He is putting on a shift he's just...playing badly and finishing very badly.
