Just stick him on a plane to John Lennon, we don’t need to give him specifics of what he’s signing or for who…

Re: Malick Fofana
Think it's one of those ones where if we can get him it's almost guaranteed we'll flip him a year or 2 down the line for double or more.
In the meantime move Ndaiye to the right, or AM and invest in a cheap RW, or play McNeil there.
Not really being bought for how he fits the team (although you'd imagine would be a game changer) but because we know what he'll be worth 12-24 months time.

Re: Malick Fofana
Yeah, they had a 16 yr old playing LW last week vs Milan.
I’m sure he’ll fetch at least 50m cuz he once wore a Liverpool shirt

Does look good that kid.
Be a massive shame to lose out to Liverpool, but hopefully our list of targets is being moved on to as we speak (or even before!).

Re: Malick Fofana
As previously stated, this aint happening. Not arsed about this one since he's primarily a left sided player and that's not the glaring hole we need to fill in the first place.
Re: Malick Fofana
He was linked to Liverpool long before us.
His agent has almost certainly paid Romano to "break" this one to flush somebody else out I reckon

Sounds like a measured strategy from our new recruitment team. Hit and hope!AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 4:49 pm Think it's one of those ones where if we can get him it's almost guaranteed we'll flip him a year or 2 down the line for double or more.

How's that hit and hope? It's really sensible if anything.
Fofanah and Aznou could generate £100m profit if not more. Yes it's not guaranteed but it's quite likely both will increase in value hugely.
That's how you buy to sell and reinvest huge profits. It's exactly what I want our recruitment team to be doing.

Re: Malick Fofana
I can see a scenario where we pull off this signing. He’s still very young at 20 and probably has some flaws in his game we don’t see from his highlight reel, which may put top sides off. They would probably rather pay a bit more and get someone more polished and rounded as a player. We’re willing to pay a good fee but not one than will prohibit us from cashing in on him if he smashes it, in which case one of the top sides will gladly pay up. We’ll probably have to wait until the final day for this one when it’ll become clear whether Lyon still need to make the sale and who’s interested. Lots of ways it goes against us though.

Just think it’s a big hopeful we sign him, then have to muddle with McNeil RW which is a painful watch,AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Wed Jul 30, 2025 4:34 pm How's that hit and hope? It's really sensible if anything.

Rather go all in for a realistic RW target and if we get Fofana we get him.
