Just as we will if Patterson gets the starting position and has a few bad games as he gets up to speed. The lad’s a baller. Persistence with him will deffo pay off imo.

I do think Moyes will be cautious with him, it's just the way Moyes is. However, the main difference is that he will actually communicate with the lad and not just completely freeze him out. If he needs a loan spell for his development, he'll get one. If he needs to start off the bench for a bit, that's what will happen. If Moyes feels he will develop better playing as a makeshift winger, then he'll do it. Got to be better for his confidence than getting splinters in his arse with very little chance of getting on the pitch.

Really think Moyes is probably the best thing that could happen for Patterson’s development. Hoping him and Baines between them can improve Myko as well - there’s a better player in there than what we’ve seen this season. Nowhere near Baines or Digne quality, but better than we’ve seen lately

I think it's been mentioned before by a few people that Moyes had no issue making us effective with an attacking LB and a very defensive RB. So really you'd hope both Patterson and Mykolenko can be utilised well under him for the rest of the season.

I just can't see him going with Young and Myko as full backs as it's very negative and although he will want to be pragmatic and keep us solid at the back he's under no illusion that we need to find ways to create and score chances, and how our previous manager's reliance on those 2 was a huge road block to that happening.

He does make mistakes, its obvious that's the reason he's not been fancied by several managers. He's big, quick and creates chances, but clearly a liability defensively.

He's with the right manager now to make some improvements and progress, but he'd cost us a few goals if he played from the off right now.

Coleman was the same when he first came into the team, which is why he both went out on loan and initially played on the wing a bit too (from what I remember).

Young was terrible today imo, think Dyche really protected him with the way we played and he was exposed today as still being crap.

I think Patterson and Lindstrom transforms that right side even if it means we probably concede more. We need wins so he'd be in if not for the next match certainly the cup one after and then hopefully he did enough to retain his place from there on.

Yeah i just think it's time to try something different with patterson and lindstrom.
As you say it will probably weaken us defensively but we are not scoring and we are not keeping clean sheets so let's give it a go
