The fact the cunty 6 made a mockery of the league and just got a slapped wrist makes this even worse.

I would love it if Everton had a damning, cast iron dossier of dodgy dealings on the Red Shite, and then nonchalantly dropped it on Monday morning to the press.

I'm so fucking angry now. I can't wait to see the support at the United game, this should galvanise us so much. Us, the manager, the players, the staff all angry and up for it. We will stay up and the fans will be a huge part of that, I believe.

From the BBC article:

"The chair of the commission, David Phillips KC, also referenced applications for financial compensation from current Premier League clubs Burnley and Nottingham Forest and last season's relegated sides, Leicester City, Leeds United and Southampton.

Phillips said he was "satisfied that the applicant clubs have potential claims for compensation" - but noted the commission holds no "inherent jurisdiction" and it is instead "the role of the Premier League to bring and prosecute complaints"."

I thought it had been said there was no sporting advantage...but he's saying here that there are grounds for compensation?

Wonder if this provides a clean sheet though?
Like, today is day 1 and our p&s for the years prior to this have now been wiped as we're punished for them?

So we can put the wages of Sandro and fees for Sigurdsson fully behind us and crack on?

Just glad he didn't try a prejudice any case being brought against us, phew!

I think you're barking up the wrong tree if you're looking for any positives out of today's decision.

If we can survive the season, are we then just open to ongoing litigation that'll drag on and on and potentially cramp any spending going forward?

The only way we get to draw a line under this is getting this overturned which is a huge challenge.

No doubt the club will appeal this, but part of me would just accept it, draw a line and get on with gaining enough points to remain in the league and wave two fingers at the haters.

It’s not like we actually have only won 4 points. I still feel we will get around 35 points from remaining games and that (39) ought to be safe.

What riles me most is none of this is the fault of the fans, the players, current manager – the situation has been arrived at solely through piss poor management at board level.

There is genuine shock around the decision to deduct 10 points from Everton and what is the biggest sporting sanction in Premier League history.

The Toffees drop from 14th to second bottom in the table but are only two points short of safety, so have not been cut adrift and can claw back their position.

Everton believe they were compliant when they sent their accounts in and sources have said there is a feeling of it being a "disproportionate and unjust" ruling.

The commission found in favour of the Premier League but Everton had gained no sporting advantage and have strived to remain compliant.

I am told the club will be appealing the decision, so this is not over yet and will rumble on.

This is what they're counting on. Everton are not big enough for it to matter, they'll roll over and accept it, they can say they don't need an independent commission to monitor the PL, etc etc.

Entirely the wrong approach for me, especially as it likely would not end there and just because the current bottom 3 aren't great shouldn't mean we're ok with being in the mix again. I only think this sort of mindset is coming in because of the last few weeks, if this decision had come down after the Luton loss at home I doubt anyone would be saying that. Can't let them get away with stealing points from us and trying to use us as a shield for them not taking action against any of the bigger clubs.

Right, I don't follow how they say that but also that those other clubs have potential grounds for compensation?

On a tangent, I think if they were trying to rush the decision into last season too from what was posted above, then it comes across as they were looking to make a statement by relegating us and likely sweeping the rest under the carpet.

The complication for them now is this action as severe as it is hasn't definitely relegated us this season because the standard has dropped a bit.

Completely agree. Fuck that ''let's accept it and move on'' shit. Fight this, at least get it reduced, expose it for the nonsense it is, and look into methods of putting serious pressure on the Prem League as an organisation and exposing the process for the absolute sham it is.
