I’m feeling pretty calm about all of this.

Probably because my standards have dropped to where the club not doing things that are blatantly stupid and have little chance of working out looks good. But still.

I think we’ll be fine when the dust settles. It all depends on whether Moyes gets us playing more with the ball like his best teams or has us lumping it to nowhere like his worst ones.

I don't necessarily have that belief, but I can't be arsed losing my mind over something that may or may not happen.

We've signed 3 players, but in reality we've completed signings of 2 who were already here, so in my mind we've really bought a single player.

That player we negotiated hard to get the price down to £16.5m, which shows probably where we are in terms of spending ability. So buying players is going to be a long drawn out affair, with many dead ends because we can't pay the transfer fees many others can.

This means there's a fairly large chance I will be disappointed with our business, but it also doesn't guarantee it. In the same way I won't celebrate a fantastic window before it's been proven to be one, I won't go insane because of internet rumours and articles that claim we're essentially fucked.

They'll probably get a right back in once the season has started, but someone of cheapish outlay who is versatile and probably cover other positions.

Grealish on deadline day and that'll be your lot I reckon.

Two summer window. Haha

Nobody is going insane or losing their minds.

Just accepting the reality of the situation.

Remember when someone posted all the players we were linked with one summer and it ended up being something like 60 odd, maybe more.

Almost all rumours and articles are absolute bollocks deliberately written to stir up either excitement or panic so they're shared and generate more clicks. If people don't know that then I'm not sure what they've been doing the past 10 years.
We dont taking an article at face value. We are assuming it will be shite because its been shite for a decade. Why would we assume something different without evidence of something different

Seriously man we are without a right back for 2/3 seasons now it should have been priority number 1 not facing into pre season without one again if we wait until the end of the window we will have a few games played madness

Bobble apparently saying not much movement unless we sell an Ndiaye or something similar due to tight money.

I can see a world where we sign a DM and Garner goes to RB with Jake as the backup. I don’t like it because it’s a short term solution and doesn’t get the best out of Jimmy and may see him want to leave. I could see the club opting for it though. Sigh

I don’t care if it’s the last day of the window that we sign a RB though because we need someone long term and not just who we can get now. I don’t want another Aznou either because he’s clearly not ready for this level if ever (I’ve seen him play)

I didn't think the i paper article was particularly negative. It baffled me that so many people reacted quite so negatively to it.

Similar to you, I'm quite calm about the situation and also think we'll be fine when the dust settles.

We're building quite a young, exciting group of players that the manager after Moyes will be able to work with. Sure it needs more work, but I'm generally fine with the direction we're taking.

I would be surprised with Johnston.

Definitely better than what we have right now, but would be solid defensively, strong, good character, but he would be lacking going forward.

Better than what we've played there the last few years, yes, but it's a risk as the jump from the SPL is big.

Personally feel his level is bottom prem/top of the Championship.

What do people mean by we’ll be fine?

We’ll avoid going down?

We’ll do better than last season?
