I didn’t see or hear what Moyes said originally but he was asked about being disappointed Beto in pre season during the Leeds press conference and he disagreed that he’d said thatAudrey Horne wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 9:00 am I said at the time, its pretty obviously the wrong thing to say. Singling him out and saying it live on sky sports is bullshit. No need.
He is a massive confidence player and its prob fucked it.

Re: Beto
Seems clear enough to me!
I’ve a lot of time for Moyes but something seems off with him at the moment. Whether it’s disagreement with those above him over transfer policy or just disappointment we haven’t done more I don’t know but something doesn’t seem right

Re: Beto
Think he improved quite a bit last season but when he plays like he did last night it's like the other team having a 12th man.

Extremely harsh on headless chickens imo, which are known to be willing runners and give everything to their last breath.Lazarou II wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 4:25 am Headless chicken, if you can't play to his one and only strength then he is not worth having on the pitch.

Re: Beto
I don’t understand. The ball was played to him when he was under pressure and he got tackled.
He was completely isolated all game and we didn’t string 3 passes together past the half way line so I don’t know what fans want from him. It seems some want him to stop a 30 yard speculative ball dead with one touch under pressure and beat 2 CBs. The whole team stunk.

Re: Beto
I’m a Beto fan, but he should have done better there and this one instance is just one of how shockingly passive and non-competitive he was all match. He didn’t come to meet the ball, didn’t use his body to protect it from the challenge he must surely have been aware was coming because they are always coming when you play with your back to goal. Let’s not let him off the hook because in this one example we think he was receiving the ball under pressure - that’s his fucking job.Bornblue88 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 10:32 pm I don’t understand. Re: Beto
Well that’s a fairer assessment. It was presented like he just passed it straight to the opposition without pressure. I’ll still give him a pass for this game as the whole teams was terrible and CB’s often come out on top in these situations because that’s their job.Toddacelli wrote: ↑Wed Aug 20, 2025 3:55 am I’m a Beto fan, but he should have done better there and this one instance is just one of how shockingly passive and non-competitive he was all match. I don’t think anyone is basing their assessment of Beto on one game, and I also think everyone is aware that we did not play to his strengths.

Re: Beto
While Beto wasn’t great the other night, he still wasn’t helped by no service and no runners around him. The only shot I can remember the other night was that low Alcaraz shot?
Not quite sure how we expected to score against Leeds . KDH, Alcaraz and Ndiaye aren’t the type to shoot freely it seems, almost felt like our players were scared to take on that responsibility. The only one who isn’t afraid to shoot is Gana, who absolutely cannot shoot to save his life

Re: Beto
The thing that helped him least by a significant margin was moyes not subbing him. His performance wouldn't be mentioned a 10th as much if moyes had just subbed him like he should. The vast majority of this is on the manager
