With alcaraz we currently have five available centre mids.

I think we’re fine there. We’re fine at centre half, the change in shape has given us more options at wing back.

We’re short in the attacking areas but can manage until the end of the season.

Also don’t think we need to sign ten players in the summer like people are saying. This is an exaggeration.

Moyes likes a small squad with versatile players to cover various positions.

This is a much better approach than the panic signings we’ve made in the past.

Not going to bang on about it like and clearly they've done what they could do given the restrictions on finances and opportunity, I just personally think it is a reactionary view to be like, we won 3 games therefore we're sound.

If we lose the next 4 on the bounce are we going to say well no bother we won them games in January?

Is Beto playing the next 4-6 weeks until we get Broja and Chermiti back, and when they're back...how long are they back for?

Is what it is and I'm thankful we've got Moyes because he can be a bit more flexible and we'll probably see Doucs and Ndiaye centrally and stuff, but for me I think it's a hugely disappointing window to come out of Jan so much weaker than we went in.

I mean no one could have thought the injuries we got would happen?

I doubt they had 4 players lined up to sign and then told them the deal was off because we won a few games...

We know January is hard anyway let alone a club in our position.

I don't think 10 is too much of an exaggeration myself, if everyone leaves when contracts are up it's 16 players we have, I think you need at least a squad of 23 to compete in a season, so that would leave us needing 7 just to fill the squad. Then anyone sold will need replacing too.

I do think 2/3 of those get extended even if only for a season.

I agree the pressure eased with those wins, it could be long term sensible, even with a few defeats we will all start to panic and be back on here saying how we should have signed more.

Which contracts are up in the summer? Will we also need to extend a few because they’re expiring next summer?

January transfer window

Yeah no flap required imo, 4 points sees us safe as that would effectively give us 31 due to the superior goal difference we have.

Ipswich and Leicester aren't getting to 32, and certainly not both of them.

The only benefit to signing players this window would have been how high up we could potentially finish given Man U and Spurs' failings and maybe we could get above West Ham... As it is we'll likely finish where we are now. That's fine, not worth buying players that hamstring our summer business and have longer term problems just for the sake of one or two places in the league position.

The period is til the end of June, so our last realllllyyy shit year will be wiped off, and we’ll just have some bad years to manage instead, but with the debt payments all being cleared off that will give us much more to play with next season
We lost £89m in 22/23 and 23/24 hasn’t been published, yet.

Also, we’re not debt free - it’s just been restructured from bad loans to “good” loans.

Wouldn't surprise me if they didn't renew Kevs contract or he didn't want to sign one.

They'll give Moyes full authority I reckon, just how he likes it.

It wouldn't surprise me if, when Moyes is done with management, he steps into a DOF role himself. Think he will be good at it.

You always have to allow for a few players being injured but more importantly, you’re seeing teams consistently make 5 subs during a game. Bournemouth being a prime example; they make 5 changes in a game with very little drop in quality. That’s what we need to aspire to.

Despite sounding like a miserable fucker, I’m actually calm about the rest of this season. I just want it done and out the way.
