A shit dance in a video doesn't suddenly improve because it's live. You watch us don't you? Just my opinion
I was taking the piss mate.
Like I was writing off a player before they had played for us.
Looking like it could be a breakout season for Thierno. Get us 12-15 goals and we'll have a right player on our hands, and he will cost a lot of money if anyone wants him. Really excited about him.
Eager to build on that foundation, he said after Wednesday’s win at Murrayfield: “I trained a lot this summer… the first season coming to a new league is difficult. They are new defenders, the best defenders in the world, so I needed to adapt. Now I know a little bit more.”
Delighted with his return this summer, Barry is willing to acknowledge his contribution is also dependent on those around him - Tyrique George and Merlin Rohl chief among those he seems to be on the same wavelength as.
He added: “I also know more about my team-mates. Last season I came [to the club] in the middle of the pre-season, so I didn't have the time to get to know everybody. Now I'm more comfortable talking in English with everybody. I feel more comfortable.
“I watch a lot of commentary about me, about my pre-season. And I don't think I had a season where I showed who I am.
“So I trained a lot this summer for that. Now I'm happy. I'm here. I have three goals now. And I hope I can continue like this in the Premier League.”
Looks a lot more willing to engage in the physical aspect of the game. Too often he'd just watch the ball and not contest for it against defenders, but now he's putting himself about and even when he's not winning the duel he's at least making it hard for the opposing player.
He also shielded the ball well yesterday and enabled us to retain possession, whereas last season he rarely did this.
He's a very good finisher with both feet, so if he keeps this up, and we supply him correctly there's no reason he shouldn't have a productive season, and make that striker slot his own.
His hold play and nice little lay offs were the most encouraging thing about the whole game, when you add in his third goal of preseason, along with an assist we could be onto something here.
