After the rebuild threads, transfer chat, and everything swirling around Bramley Moore — what are you realistically expecting this season?

Survival again? Top half push? Cup run?
Personally, I’d settle for solid mid-table, a bit of identity on the pitch, and the new signings actually playing with some fire. I know we’ve said “fresh start” for the last 3 seasons, but something does feel a bit different this summer (maybe that's just blind hope).

Also — what player are you personally backing to have a breakthrough year? For me, it’s got to be Branthwaite again, assuming we hold on to him.

Curious what the room thinks. UTFT.
...
You do know he’s just signed a new contract?

I’m expecting about 8th, providing we get the signings of RW, a defensive midfielder and an attacking midfielder sorted. The usual suspects will be down there, including the promoted sides and I think Brentford, Forest and possibly Brighton will end up below us.
IMWT!
So, in no paticular order, I expect
Arsenal
City
Newcastle
Chelsea
Villa
Spurs
And the shite to be above us.

I only really have 3 expectations:

- Go unbeaten in at least 14/19 home games whilst winning the majority of those 14. I am so fed up of us being an easy touch at home, especially when it's not like the 'top teams' are anywhere near as intimidating as they used to be. We played 1st to 3rd last season in consecutive matches and none of them were anything special.

- Play on the front foot at home. Follows on from above, I'm not going to cope with another season of watching us scrape a draw against what seems like the Fulham globetrotters. It's one thing to watch City play football against us for 90 minutes but it's another thing when it's West Ham.

- Respectable cup losses. I can handle us going out of the cup because realistically there are better teams than us and some ties are unrealistic to expect a win but when it's Bournemouth at home, Southampton at home, Fulham at home and Luton at home... Fuck off.

I do have faith in Moyes to (mostly) achieve these things. Where we finish in the table, hard to be optimistic given our lack of business so far this summer.

What I would say is that although Brighton and Fulham will probably continue to be decent, the likes of Brentford and to a lesser extent Bournemouth have lost key players whilst we wasn't that far off any of those teams last season. Forest losing players and you can't imagine Wood is going to pull out those numbers again whilst they have Europe along with Palace and loads of others. Man United are a mess. Spurs are putting together the most 7th place team & manager ever. If things click then there's no reason we can't compete for European places even if we ultimately fail to achieve that. Although, as said, I don't have much optimism with how we're conducting ourselves as the minute. We're more likely to struggle with the squad as it is.

No relegation fight and potentially fighting for a European slot. I think we'll sign some soon because Moyes wouldn't have signed on for anything if he wasn't assured of funds

Think saying top 10 minimum or a largish number of points minimum is a bit dangerous. We've no real right to expect that. It's possible but shouldn't be a minimum requirement

Think it's more about staying safe and feeling the club as a whole has progressed

I don't think the 3 that have come up are going to be very good. Not sure why there's any expecting they are gonna be significantly better than the 6 from the previous 2 years
The bar is pretty low for the bottom 3 in last couple of years, so I think with the clubs involved and some of the spending they're making it's fair to say they'll put in a better effort than those in recent years. Who knows how they actually perform, but I'd probably guess the bar will be higher than 25 pts for instance which has been ridiculously low, maybe we're back to 35 pts to survive or thereabouts...which is still fairly low.

Don’t know what to expect from this club anymore.

Thought we’d see a difference in approach and start acting like a proper club but I still get the feeling of farce around us.

I think we really should be looking at challenging for europe next season with it going to eight teams. We should be looking at improving on last season and that’s the next logical step.

No idea really, squad could look like anything between now and the end of the window.

Ideally I want top half, fairly confident we'll get the players we need even if they aren't the top targets we're pursuing, so somewhere around 9th if things pan out as I expect / hope.

Honestly, there's so much left to do that I don't think I could really say.

As is, this squad has a very good chance of going down. Maybe it goes down swinging, almost purely because of the Moyes effect, but it is too thin and too poor, with some big availability issues e.g. afcon.

Up front - I will never ever slag them for making the Barry gamble, we have to gamble a bit to access some upside and I will take the u23 potential star gamble every day of the week....but neither him or Beto are ready to lead a line in the prem and I worry that will be badly exposed in small boring ways - not having complete stinkers, not missing massive opportunities, just...the side being slightly disfunctional and unable to maintain any sense of control.

I like them both and it could definitely go the other way, I'm backing Barry to be quite an explosive addition to the league, but I think it is definitely possible that we're sat here ina few weeks going - ah this might be an issue this.

There's so, so much to do im afraid, but we're bang in it as it stands.

I'm still fairly confident, apparently without evidence, that we'll get in the players we need. However, I'm not super confident we'll get those players in before the start of the season and that could well be an issue.

The big unknown is the new stadium, usually it takes a while for a team to adjust and we need a strong base...not that our Goodison record was all that of late.

I hope we can get a couple of signings in and start more on the front foot and with more optimism than everyone currently has as it stands. That feels like a bit of a coin flip though right now.

Mid-table, a season of stability and growth. Finding our feet at BMD after a slow start. Bedding in 2 or 3 new genuinely quality players to start building some depth and having several clear areas to improve on in the next transfer window to start challenging for Europe again. Very much evolution over revolution for me next year. I hope they give Moyes a transitional season.

Points wise mid 50s.

I actually think the key is getting of to a good start and winning some games in August which is why it's imperative we get majority of our business done prior to playing Leeds.

Fed up of pissing away points in August. Last win in August came four years ago.
