BMD Travel Options
Re: BMD Travel Options
In a way I'm quite glad we're not getting to the first game, it'll be good just to see how everything pans out but as I've said before I'm sure as the season goes on parking will become less of an issue.
Re: BMD Travel Options
Well that sounds like a great idea, yes, I can still get my steps in ! Would Google maps show me that route (past the Ship and Mitre) ?
Re: BMD Travel Options
Some great pubs on the way from Lime Street.
Doctor Duncans, Ship & Mitre, the railway, Crosskeys.
Be half baked before you get to the new ones
Re: BMD Travel Options
Don’t know what to do.
It seems daft getting the train and going past Sandhills, but want to also avoid Sandhills if I can.
Might just get the bus and get off around Scotty road.
When I move away it will simply be train into lime street and walk up.

Re: BMD Travel Options
I noticed there was new footbridge installed at Sandhills last week so I don't know what everyone is concerned about.
All problems are now solved.

Re: BMD Travel Options
I used to Park at Walton Hall Lifestyles and Walk to GP so about 20 minute walk which wasn't too bad and then it was dead easy to get on the motorway home.
Re: BMD Travel Options
I'm sure it will - once you've done it once, it's dead straight forward and even if you get lost its that big stadium on the horizon

This is a vid of it
Re: BMD Travel Options
Nice wee half hour walk in August or May for an early or late season game, not the same in January with it pissing down or snowing and about 2 degrees.

Re: BMD Travel Options
Sandhills from maghull north for me. Shouldn't be bad going, coming back is going to make Kirkdale seem quiet though

Going with my uncle, cousin and sister so probably be getting a lift from my auntie. Coming through the tunnel. Don’t think she has any idea what she’s letting herself in for and fully expecting at some point we’ll just say fuck it! And jump out to walk the rest of the way

Train, drive, walk, bike or bus?
2nd test event was challenging. I live near Manchester Airport these days and will probably drive and park at Liverpool South Parkway and jump train to Sandhill's assuming the trains are better now?
Other options are getting train into Lime street but that means changing at Crewe or going any to manchester which is a ballache and not ideal with an 8 year old as it can take nearly 2 hours.
Drive to Hunts Cross, instead of South Parkway, lots of on street parking, as well as the station car park.
The main benefit being it's the start of the line, so will definitely get a seat.

It’s 10-15 mins walk from Sandhills so my thinking is you are as well to just walk the whole lot, will take the same amount of time and less people/ queuing etc
By the time you factor in queue time after the match you’re winning.
