Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Better for everyone. Shame we didn’t cash in when we could have, but his high value was short lived.

Be interesting to see where he goes. Haven't seen him linked with anybody.

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Just a shame we didn't manage to punt him last summer for some money rather than pay him a few million for next to fuck all last season.
Presumably has something lined up, can't see it being a big team unless as squad back up though.

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
He was never going to stay here on significantly reduced terms. He's not especially popular with the fans and pride wouldn't let him take 50% to stay here even if it was as good an offer as he's gonna get
Ultimately he's played the contract game and lost big time. Apparently we offered him a payrise which must have meant close to 8m a season. He assumed he could get that at a better side. Got injured, cemented his place as the worst finisher in europes major leagues and we withdrew the big offer
Can't see him getting a better side than us in England. Can't see him getting more than 60 or 70k a week anywhere. Wouldn't be surprised to see him at Leeds with very favourable release clause if they are relegated or failing that a midtable Spanish or Italian team
He might be worth the risk if it were just the injuries but his finishing has been absolutely awful too. You're betting on him keeping fit and suddenly learning how to finish
Glad he's gone. Hope he goes abroad and does well

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
I still think he’ll end up replacing Callum Wilson on Newcastle’s bench.
They’ve got a lot of goals in their wingers and midfield so he can rotate in for Isak and act as a focal point or be a defensive forward to see out a lead when needed - he’d be a better fit for that role than Wilson was and Howe loves his English players

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Shame how it has played out. Injury really derailed him, maybe he was never as good as he seemed but I think that injury had a major impact.
Played for us a lot when not fully fit, worked hard, despite his goal scoring challenges he scored one of the most important goals of the last decade or so.
Seems like a good lad as well and I think he may consider going abroad. Hope it works out for him wherever he ends up and he can put the injuries fully behind him.

Reckon he'll either go abroad or drop the Champ.
Might re join Sheff United.

Aw. Lovely sign-off too. Wish him all the very, very best. It’s the right time for a new challenge for him and I hope it’s a great and successful one. Fare thee well, Dominic, there’s always a pint on me if you’re up for it
