Today's Football 2023-24
Re: Today's Football 2023-24
Men against boys. You can see why teams like Burnley smash up the championship and then struggle with the physicality once they get promoted.

Another example of how the ever growing rich-poor divide has ruined any magic or romance in both the league and the cups.
The one area you might be able to match better players in the Prem teams in the past is intensity and pressing, but pressing is such a standard, professional thing in the Prem now that you can't even do that anymore.

There should be a law passed that any lower league team drawn at home to a premier league team should be able to turn the pitch into a mud heap like in the 70's and 80'sBluedylan1 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 2:52 pm Another example of how the ever growing rich-poor divide has ruined any magic or romance in both the league and the cups.

I was watching the big match revisited a few months ago and there were a few f.a. cup weekends on there.
Two matches that stood out were Halifax 1 man city 0 looked like it was played in a paddling pool.
And wolves 0 shrewesbury 0 not a blade of grass to be seen just rolled mud

Joao Pedro seems to be really emerging into a top player, and might be cherrypicked from Brighton in the next year or two by one of the snake clubs.
Looks to have everything.

Do you think? Most of his goals seem to be penalties and/or against crap sides to me.

I do yeah. I think he's been fantastic all season. Absolutely brilliant at pressing, passing, carrying the ball, as well as the 13 goals in all comps. Yes, a load of pens, but that's just another string to his bow.
Think he's like the ideal modern pressing forward that lots of elite clubs would want.

Aston Villa doesn't scan into the song ''we're by far the greatest team...'' at all.
Pathetic.
