Re: Jack Grealish
Transfer fee, outrageous wages that might cause issues in our squad, injuries, no pre season and will defo be injured during the Christmas run in, whilst being filmed falling out of a nightclub at 2am. Otherwise, he could stay injury free and send us to Europe.
Re: Jack Grealish
The big reason I don't want Grealish back is because I don't trust Moyes with Dibling and George if it does happen. We saw it last year that he played Grealish and Ndiaye every minute he could basically and given what we seen from Dibling and George in pre-season then it'll be a shame if they're sitting on the bench every week just watching Ndiaye/Grealish/Johnson for 85 minutes.
Re: Jack Grealish
We haven’t really got a ten to compete with KDH, I wonder if we move Alcaraz on and have Grealish and or NDiaye play more central at times. KDH can play deeper too

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
Don’t rate Rico Lewis at all, not even sure what his position is. He’s also seems like the opposite of the tall/physical player that Moyes apparently wants there. Feels like another youth player Pep tried to mould into something but it didn’t really work out.
Don’t really get how paying 18 mil for Grealish is like a free transfer? I worry I’m getting a little jaded on a Grealish transfer too. Probably shouldn’t really go overboard on preseason showings, but I was hoping we’d see these younger players be given more of a chance. Grealish would gobble up minutes for George and Dibling too if Ndiaye sticks around. I think if Moyes rotated a bit more it’s less of a concern.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
I am hoping that if Grealish comes and is successful it increases our appeal to other players we are trying to attract.blueToffee wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2026 11:03 am

Hypothetical if Grealish is playing well and we somehow get the any European football next season, I think we can attract much more promising young players.
Its at least got to help attract an upcoming left back !!!

I prefer my free transfers 18m cheaper than 18m
Why the fuck would city give grealish 12m too.

Re: Jack Grealish
Buying out his contract for him so he can leave to go to us. Whichever way you look at it, this is nuts and that’s probably exactly why we’ll get him for £18M for free.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2026 11:30 am I prefer my free transfers 18m cheaper than 18m

Re: Jack Grealish
Yeah, echoing others, I’d love Jack back, but no way do I trust Moyes to give George and especially Dibling many meaningful minutes (let alone starts) if he comes.
Even if Ndiaye leaves in that scenario, I reckon Grealish and Johnson get 80 minutes each every week.

Re: Jack Grealish
Free to City, not us. The 18 Mil City get will be owed by them to Grealish. Lots of players get their contracts paid up when they are no longer wanted by their clubs.
Re: Jack Grealish
I can see the attraction with wanting to get another older head in the squad and his obvious talent still.
However I'd love to see George down one flank and Dibling down the other skinning full backs and putting balls on a plate for Barry, or KDH/Hackney arriving late into the box.

That’s the dream. I just always worry Moyes will end up in some negative Catch-22 with younger players like:Bumble wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2026 12:10 pm I can see the attraction with wanting to get another older head in the squad and his obvious talent still.

DM: Well I need you to improve before I can trust you on the pitch…
TD: Yeah but I need to get on the pitch in order to improve…
